Both GEL gel batteries and AGM batteries are development versions of lead-acid batteries. In the case of GEL batteries, we are dealing with a gel form of electrolyte, which was obtained after mixing sulphuric acid with silica.

AGM batteries, on the other hand, are batteries based on the technology of glass mats absorbing liquid electrolyte.

They allow you to charge a 12 V battery even if its voltage has dropped to 8 V (3 V for a 6 V battery).

They have built-in protection against reverse polarity, overheating, short circuit, low voltage, battery overcharging. An important advantage is also working as a "support" - maintenance charging to extend the life of an unused longer battery (e.g. Motorcycle in winter).
