Ideal for smaller portions and everyday cooking
Bamboo steamer with an external diameter of 18 cm is a practical choice for preparing smaller portions of steamed dishes. It will work well in everyday home cooking, as well as with more frequent preparation of dishes in gastronomy.
One level allows you to conveniently spread the ingredients so that the steam can circulate freely inside the steamer. It is a great solution for dumplings, bao, dim sum, vegetables, fish, seafood and other dishes inspired by Asian cuisine.
Natural bamboo and traditional cooking method
The steamer is made entirely of bamboo, thanks to which it combines practical use with a natural, aesthetic appearance. Bamboo construction supports the preservation of the natural aroma of ingredients and fits well into traditional steaming methods.
Cooking without immersing food in water helps preserve the taste, structure and appetizing appearance of dishes. It is an easy way to prepare light, aromatic dishes in home style.
Convenient use with a wok or pot
The steamer can be used with a properly selected wok or pot. Just pour water so that its level is about 2 to 3 cm below the bottom of the steamer, bring it to a boil and arrange the ingredients evenly on the grate.
When covered with a lid, steam is retained inside, which supports even cooking. After preparation, the dish can be served directly in the steamer – natural bamboo looks good on the table and gives the dishes an authentic Asian character.
How to use and care for a bamboo steamer
Before the first use, rinse the steamer thoroughly with water to remove dust and prepare it for operation. Then fill the wok or pot with water so that its level is 2 to 3 cm below the bottom of the steamer. Water should not touch the bottom of it.
Bring water to a boil over medium heat. Arrange the food evenly so that the steam can circulate freely around the ingredients. You can use steamer paper or baking paper, which reduces food sticking and facilitates subsequent cleaning.
Place the steamer on a wok or pot and cover tightly with a lid. Cooking time depends on the type of food, so it is worth controlling the water level and replenishing it with hot water if necessary.
Once the cooking is complete, turn off the fire and leave the dish in steam for a few minutes to arrive peacefully. Remove the steamer carefully, preferably with oven gloves, then remove the food and serve.
Bamboo steamer is one of the oldest kitchen tools derived from traditional cooking methods in China. After use, it should be thoroughly rinsed and allowed to dry in a ventilated place to prevent moisture and mold formation and extend the shelf life of the product.
