How to check the software version?

In the car, select:

1. NAVIGATION

2. MAP

3. OPTIONS button

4. NAVIGATION SETTINGS

5. ITEM AND VERSION

6. INFORMATION ABOUT THE VERSION/SOFTWARE.

Verification of the software version:

Go to "Navigation" ->

select "Map" ->

Press Options ->

Select "Navigation Setting" ->

Swipe down to "Position and Version" ->

Select "Version/Software Information".

How do I check what unit you have?

Start Navigation --> click "Map" on iDrive Controller

--> Click the "Options" button on your iDrive controller

Next, select "Navigation Setting"

--> Search and click "Item and Version"

Click on "Version/Software Information"

If you really care about full-screen CarPlay, it is absolutely possible to do it but it requires updating the software of the central unit and it is an additional paid service.
