Zigbee Tuya Smart Soil Temperature and Humidity Sensor

Take care of the right conditions for your plants with an intelligent soil sensor. The device constantly controls the temperature and humidity level of the substrate, helping to determine the right moment of watering.

The measurement results are transmitted over the Zigbee network to the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app, so you can check the soil status on your phone – both inside and outside your home.

Control of the two most important substrate parameters

The sensor simultaneously monitors moisture and soil temperature. Simply place its probe in the substrate for information to help with your daily plant care.

Measurement of humidity:

• Humidity control allows you to assess whether the substrate is properly hydrated. Thanks to this, you can reduce the risk of both drying and watering plants too often.

Temperature measurement:

• The temperature of the substrate affects, among others, the development of roots, water uptake and the general condition of plants. The sensor allows you to observe its changes without the need for manual measurements.

Declared measurement accuracy:

• temperature: ±0.3°C,
• humidity: ±10% RH.

The device also allows you to change the temperature unit between °C and °F.

Current results in Tuya Smart app

When the sensor is connected to the Zigbee gateway, all data is available in the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app. The easy-to-read panel allows you to quickly check the current temperature and soil moisture.

From the phone you can:

• check current measurement results,
• control the condition of the substrate from anywhere,
• set your own limit values,
• receive notifications of incorrect conditions,
• view changes in parameters on charts,
• Create scenarios with other Tuya devices.

Thanks to this, you do not have to check the soil manually each time. You always have all the most important information at hand.

Regular reporting and immediate notifications

The sensor can report data up to every 1 minute, which allows you to quickly notice a change in conditions in the substrate. In the application, you can set the appropriate humidity or temperature thresholds.

When the indicated level is exceeded or falls below the set value, the application can send a notification to the phone.

Examples of applications of alarms:

• warning of too dry soil,
• information about excessive humidity,
• alarm too high temperature,
• warning about too low substrate temperature.

Notifications facilitate quick response and help ensure that plants are in the right conditions even in the absence of the user.

History of measurements and clear charts

The application allows you to observe changes in temperature and humidity over time. The data presented in clear charts help to assess how quickly the substrate dries and how conditions change after watering.

The history of measurements can facilitate:

• adjustment of watering frequency,
• comparison of conditions at different times of the day,
• controlling soil reaction after hydration,
• detection of longer periods of drying,
• better matching care to a specific plant species.

This is a particularly practical solution for plants that require regular substrate inspection.

Tuya Automatic Irrigation System

The sensor can work in automation scenarios with other compatible devices running in the Tuya ecosystem. When combined, for example, with an intelligent irrigation controller, valve or pump, you can create a system that responds to the level of soil moisture.

Example scenario:

1. Soil moisture falls below the set value, e.g. 30%.
2. The sensor transmits information through the Zigbee gate.
3. The Tuya system activates a compatible irrigation device.
4. Watering is performed according to the automation created.

The possibility of the scenario depends on the devices used, their functions and configuration in the Tuya application.

Simple installation and wide application

Installation of the sensor is quick and does not require wires. The probe should be placed directly in the soil and then paired with a compatible Zigbee gateway and app.

The housing is made of PC and ABS materials, ensuring durability and resistance to typical conditions associated with the use of the device in plants. The sensor can be left in the ground, so you do not have to remove it after each measurement.

Important information about the connection

The sensor uses the Zigbee protocol and does not connect directly to your home Wi‑Fi router. A compatible Zigbee gateway is needed to transfer data to the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app.
