EN 14604 specifies requirements for, inter alia, smoke detection efficiency, alarm performance, reliability and safety of autonomous smoke detectors.

Thanks to the use of a certified solution, the device can be an additional element of fire protection in the home, apartment or other utility rooms.

When the appropriate smoke level is detected, the sensor automatically triggers an audible alarm and LED signaling, informing household members of the potential danger.

You can also mount the unit near the kitchen, however, keep it away from direct water vapor sources (e.g. above the stove) and strong drafts to reduce the risk of false alarms.

The BAREX smoke detectors are equipped with an optical (photoelectric) sensor that detects smoke particles floating in the air. This technology allows you to detect smoke generated during slow smoldering of materials such as upholstery, cables, paper or home furnishings.

The device meets the requirements of EN 14604:2005/AC:2008 for autonomous smoke detectors, which specifies requirements for, inter alia, smoke detection sensitivity, alarm operation and device reliability.

The sensor reacts to the presence of smoke in the room – it does not detect the flame itself, the temperature of the fire or the heat source.

Sensors of this type need a few or several seconds of constant contact with the appropriate concentration of smoke to exceed the alarm threshold and start signaling. This is a deliberate design action that helps reduce the number of false positives, e.g. when cooking or using candles.

This model is an autonomous smoke detector. It does not have WiFi, mobile app or phone notifications.

The device works on its own after proper assembly and commissioning.

⚠ The sensor is designed to detect fire hazards and dense smoke generated during combustion.
