The EPP -618 electronic current relay controls the values of the current flowing in the measured circuit. Switches contacts when the current exceeds and falls below preset thresholds.

The digital display allows you to read the current value in the measured circuit on an ongoing basis. It facilitates precise programming of parameter values, according to which it will work.

The principle of operation of the electronic current relay

The relay is adapted to work with a current transformer with a secondary current of 5 A. It can also work without a transformer. Then its maximum current is 50 A. The relay works according to one of four work functions: F1, F2, F3 and F4.

F1 function

If the current in the measuring circuit exceeds the set value Hi, then relay contacts 7-8 will be connected. However, contacts 9-10 will be disconnected. If the current in the measuring circuit is less than the set value minus the hysteresis value, the relay contacts will return to their original position. The moment of switching the relay on and off can be additionally adjusted in the range of 0.5 ÷ 10 s.

F2 function

After the current drops below the value set Lo, relay contacts 7-8 will be connected. Contacts 9-10 are disconnected. If the current in the measuring circuit is higher than the set value plus the hysteresis value, the relay contacts will return to their original position. The moment of switching the relay on and off can be additionally adjusted in the range of 0.5 ÷ 10 s.

Function F3

If the current in the measuring circuit exceeds the Hi setpoint, the relay contacts 7-8 will be connected and the contacts 9-10 disconnected. The relay contacts in this function will return to their original position only when the current value is lower than the Lo value. In this function, the current settings are not corrected by the hysteresis value. The moment of switching the relay on and off can be additionally adjusted in the range of 0.5 ÷ 10 s.

F4 function

In this function, the relay works in the so-called measurement window. The relay will be switched on if the current in the measuring circuit is higher than the set value Hi. The relay contacts will return to their original position if the current drops below the set value minus the hysteresis value. The relay will also be energized if the current is below the Lo set point. In this case, the relay will be turned off if the current value in the measuring circuit increases above the set value Lo plus the hysteresis value.

The moment of switching on and off can be additionally corrected by setting the time tON or tOFF.
