LUMIX S Series Lens: Switchable to Control Ring

The focus ring can also be used as a control ring*, allowing you to customize key settings such as aperture control and exposure compensation. You can even change the direction of rotation of the ring to feel more comfortable. The lens also features a focus button that allows you to quickly access features such as hybrid zoom**.

Precise focus to suit your creative goals

Now you can manually adjust focus even when zooming, giving you more creative possibilities such as seamlessly switching focus between objects. The focus ring offers both linear and nonlinear mode. In non-linear mode, the focus speed changes with the rotation speed, which allows quick changes. In linear mode, the focus changes at a user-defined speed, providing precise control reminiscent of mechanical control.

Other functions

The new two-phase linear motor and optical encoder enable fast and precise autofocus operation. In addition, the quiet drive system minimizes the noise associated with focusing during video recording. What’s more, phase-detection autofocus works even when zooming in.
