⚡ Schuko type electrical sockets

Schuko sockets, also called German sockets, are designed to work with a load of up to 16 A, just like French sockets. However, they differ from them in design. Instead of a single ground pin, they have two spring-loaded grounding plates located on the sides of the contact holes.

This design means that the plug can be inserted in any direction, which increases the convenience of use. Schuko sockets work with both standard type C plugs and plugs equipped with side recesses, which are adapted to the German grounding system.

To fully use the smart outlet, just a few simple steps are enough:

1 Download the app

• Go to Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iPhone).
• Search for “Tuya Smart” or “Smart Life”.
• Download and install the app.

2 Register an account or log in

• Open the app and click “Register”.
• Enter your email address and create a password.
• If you already have an account, just log in.

3 Add device

• Click “Add Device”.
• Select the Socket (Wi-Fi) category.
• Make sure the outlet is plugged in and the LED flashes quickly — a sign of pairing mode.

4 Connect to Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz)

• Enter the password for your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
• Wait a while for the app to automatically detect the outlet.

5 Complete the setup

• After a few seconds you will see the message “Device added successfully”.
• Give your device its own name (e.g. “Lamp living room”). You're done!
