Our ZigBee 3.0 Sone motion sensor is a practical and energy-efficient solution for monitoring motion and automating your home , office or garage – with access to data from anywhere in the world. Thanks to ZigBee 3.0 communication, the device works faster and more stable than typical Wi-Fi sensors and is ideal for battery operation, and can also work with other devices in the Tuya ecosystem , creating smart scenes – from turning on the light to triggering the alarm.

The new version of the sensor has been extended to include illumination value measurement , which allows you to create more advanced automations – for example , turning on the lighting only when motion is detected and at the same time the room is dark. This actually reduces energy consumption and improves comfort of use.

Battery power and a compact, round housing (33x27mm) allow the sensor to be mounted virtually anywhere – on the wall, ceiling or furniture, without running cables. You manage all functions in the Tuya or Smart Life app, where you can check the event history, battery level, and set notifications for motion detection or low battery.

A ZigBee gateway is required for the device to operate – the sensor does not connect directly to Wi-Fi. Thanks to this solution, you gain a more stable connection, faster response and longer battery life.

Compact size and installation

The small, round housing with dimensions of 33 × 33 × 28 mm makes the sensor discreet and easy to hide in any interior. It is unobtrusive and at the same time covers a wide detection area thanks to the 120° angle.

Battery powered (1x CR2450 – not included) allows you to mount the device exactly where it is needed – without conducting wires and without interfering with the electrical system.

Installation is possible using double-sided tape (included) or by setting the sensor on a flat surface. Thanks to this, it will work on the wall, ceiling, furniture, in the corner of the room, as well as in more difficult-to-reach places, such as a dressing room, garage or technical room.

The ZigBee 3.0 motion sensor presents real-time data in the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app. The screen shows the current status of the sensor and history detect with date and time.

When motion is detected, the icon of the running person appears and a push notification on the phone is sent. When the sensor does not detect motion, the surveillance icon is displayed, indicating the standby state.

In the application you can additionally check the battery level, light intensity (Illuminance Value) and turn push notifications on or off. Sensor data can also be used to create automation scenes, e.g. automatic switching on the light after dark.

Creating Scenes and Automations

The ZigBee 3.0 motion sensor works with the Tuya / Smart Life app, allowing you to create smart scenes and automations that run automatically when certain conditions are met.

In the app, you can set rules like:

• If – the condition that triggers the action (e.g., motion detected, light level is low, no motion for a certain time).
• Then – the action that will be performed (e.g., turn on the light, start the coffee maker, trigger the alarm).
• Precondition – e.g., the scenario is only active at night or during specific hours.

Example automations:

• Turn on the light when the sensor detects motion and the light level (Illuminance Value) is low.
• Send a push notification when the sensor detects motion at night.
• Start the coffee maker when you enter the kitchen in the morning.

You can create scenes yourself from the "Scenes" or "Smart" tab – the motion sensor appears as a triggering device (IF), and any other compatible Tuya device (relay, bulb, socket, etc.) can be the device performing the action (THEN).

This makes the sensor an integral part of an intelligent system that automatically responds to situations in the environment – without the need for manual operation.

Supported functions:

The ZigBee 3.0 motion sensor operates in continuous presence monitoring mode, responding immediately when motion is detected within its range. As long as the sensor records movement, maintains the active state of PIR and transmits data to the application on an ongoing basis. If no movement is detected for 2,5 minutes, the device automatically goes into standby, prepared for re-detection.

All data, such as event history, battery level and light intensity, are available directly in the Tuya or Smart Life app.

Adding to the App

Pairing the sensor with the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app is quick and intuitive. The device uses ZigBee 3.0 technology, so before you start adding it, make sure you have a ZigBee gateway in your system.

Instructions for adding the sensor:

1. Open the Tuya or Smart Life app and go to the "My Home" tab.
2. Select your ZigBee gateway and click "Add Device".
3. Select the ZigBee option – the app will automatically search for available devices.
4. Put the sensor into pairing mode: there is a small hole on the side of the housing, into which you should gently insert a reset needle or pin. Hold the button inside for a few seconds until the sensor starts flashing steadily – this means the device is ready to connect.
5. After a moment, the sensor will be detected automatically by the app.
6. Confirm the addition, enter the device name (e.g., "Office Motion Sensor") and click "Finish".
7. Done – the sensor will appear in your ZigBee gateway and will be visible in the app as an active device.
