The auction is for the AutoSteps controller with a built-in astronomical clock in a set with 3 StepSensor01 motion detectors. The measuring element is the SHARP laser sensor

Intelligent staircase lighting controller. It is a product of the Polish company Ntronic. In short, it is distinguished by:

  • Built-in astronomical clock. The stairs can light up after sunset, until sunrise, and on the day after sunrise, when it is bright, not anymore.
  • Support for up to 4 motion detectors , thanks to which it fully realizes direction recognition on the mezzanine.
  • Possibility to set the rest light - selected stages with a specific light power are included
  • 18 LED outputs - we can freely configure which of the LED outputs from 1 to 18 are controlled by each of the motion detector inputs. The number of 18 LED outputs is enough for most staircases. You can even control one output and use the free inputs to control the light in the rooms.
  • Possibility to limit the maximum brightness.
  • Full adjustment of lighting, lighting and extinguishing times.
  • Selection of types and directions of animation.
  • Support for SHARP laser detectors

It acts as an automatic control of multi-point LED lighting 12 V / 24 V DC of stairs, paths, driveways or parking lots.

It gives the effect of a decorative visual effect consisting in smooth brightening and extinguishing the lighting of the stair steps.

The controller is distinguished by 4 motion detector inputs. This makes it possible to use the device to efficiently operate the stairs from the mezzanine. If we have a landing on the stairs at home, we can only light part of the stairs depending on whether we go up or down.

Up to 18 LED light points can be connected to the device.

The biggest advantage, apart from the universality of use, is the BUILT-IN ASTRONOMIC CLOCK. The light can only be lit at night, regardless of the season. Just enter the hours of operation of the device or select control based on the astronomical clock according to sunset and sunrise. This function eliminates the need to use external motion detectors.

If we do not want the device to work in accordance with the sun, we can set fixed hours or work all the time .

Using the display and 4 buttons, we can easily configure the device. It is possible to configure many parameters of each animation. Among others:

  • Start/end stair
  • The number of the input to trigger the animation.
  • Single step brightening time.
  • The time left before the animation turns off.
  • Animation type

All parameters and the current state of the animation work can be viewed on the screen.

The buttons can also be used to simulate the activation of motion detectors.

The AutoSteps stair lighting regulator allows you to automatically control the lighting of the stairs in the staircase. It gives the opportunity to obtain a decorative visual effect consisting in smooth brightening and extinguishing the lighting of stair steps.

The device can be used to control the lighting of corridors, communication routes, paths to property or garage driveways.

The configuration of the device is done using four buttons on the front of the device and the OLED display. The controller is designed in a housing for a DIN rail.

The device allows you to independently control light sources in LED technology up to 24 V DC. To control the brightness, the user has 18 independent power outputs of the PWM type (open collector output). The negative potential "-" of the controlled source should be connected to the output. The light source can be any receiver that can be controlled by a PWM signal:

• LED bulb, LED strip, LED module, LED strips, LED eyes

• Halogen lamp up to 24 V.

Depending on the power of the LED and the cross-section of the wires, the distance of the light sources from the controller can be up to several meters.

The controller has 4 galvanically isolated inputs. With their help, by providing a signal from motion detectors, we activate animations that control the brightness of connected light sources. The signal triggering a given input is giving the device mass. All open collector or relay type NO detectors will fulfill their function. Inputs cooperate with:

• Mini PIR detectors with an adapter.

• Optical detectors with an adapter

• Any sensor providing a ground signal.

• Buttons momentary normally open - returns to its original state when released. An example is the classic bell or roller shutter buttons.

2-core cables are required for each light point and 3-core cables for each of the motion sensors.

Special detectors based on SHARP sensors have been designed for the controller.

The narrow detection angle makes it an ideal sensor for motion detection when climbing stairs. It only reacts when a person's leg is directly in front of it - it does not react when we pass the stairs and we do not want to turn on the backlight of the stairs.

It is based on the popular SHARP laser detector. The wide power supply range of 6 - 29 V DC allows you to power all devices from one power supply. For example, if we have LEDs with a voltage of 24 V on the stairs. With one power supply, we can power the LED lights, the AutoSteps controller and the presented motion sensors.

  • In the device settings , we can specify the maximum level of brightness to which the LEDs are to light up. :

    This functionality can be used when we do not want the stairs to shine too much in the evenings.

  • Step extinguishing methods:

    Sequentially - one after the other, we choose from which stage we start extinguishing.

    All at once - all the lights in the animation turn off at the same time.

    We define animation times separately:

  • T1 lighting time of a single step,

    T2 waiting time after lighting up,

    T3 extinguishing time of a single step.

  • Operating times of the device synchronized with the sun:

    The built-in clock allows you to specify a rigid working hour. We don't have to turn on the lights during the day. What's more, you can activate the astronomical timer, so that the light only comes on at night, regardless of the season.

  • Rest light:

    We can specify which steps are to be lit during working hours all the time. When we want, for example, the extreme steps to be illuminated all evening.

The diagram of the classic configuration of the device with the use of two motion detectors is shown next to it.

In the case of a single staircase, two motion detectors are enough for us and we can control the direction of lighting the lights on the stairs.

The user can assign a motion detector to each of the 4 animations. This means that the LEDs can be lit from two directions when motion is detected by only one motion detector.

On the OLED screen, we can view the status of each animation as well as inputs and outputs. Additionally, it is possible to simulate activation of motion detector inputs. We can see how the lights of the stairs light up without "running on them".

Both motion detection and LED lighting are presented on the screen of the device.

The figure shows the configuration of the device to support the mezzanine.

Detector No. 1 and 2 control the A1 and A2 animations, which control the LED1 - LED6 diodes. If detector 1 detects movement, steps 1 to 6 will light up (Animation A1). On the other hand, activation of detector no. 2 will trigger animation A2. That is, successive lighting of LEDs from 6 to 1.

Detectors 3 and 4 perform A3 and A4 animations. We have control of LEDs from 7 to 18 here. Detector no. 3 triggers animation A3, i.e. lights up LEDs 10 to 18 (we are going to the first floor). Detector no. 4 triggers. Activates the lighting of LEDs from 18 to 7 (we go down from the first floor to the mezzanine).

We can assign different steps to each Animation (A1 - A4).

The animations work independently of each other. If two people are walking from two opposite directions, two animations are activated, e.g. A3 and A4, which will converge from two directions. Disabling these animations (extinguishing the steps) will take place when the conditions for disabling both A3 and A4 animations are met. During animations A3 and A4, nothing prevents animation A1 from being activated when another person enters the stairs from the ground floor. Similarly, the operation of the A1 animation does not interfere with the activation of the A3 or A4 animation.

The led turns off after T3 time (Settings) when there is no motion detection signal on the triggering and blocking detector. This applies when, for example, we go up the stairs and stop at a motion detector. Since we're still on the stairs, we don't want the light to go out.

Terminal strips with a spacing of 5.08 mm and a maximum diameter of 1.5mm2 are placed in the device to connect the wires.

The device is powered by applying a DC voltage in the range of 12 - 24 V to terminals 1 and 2.

The controller requires a power supply in the range of 9 to 28 V DC. Such a wide supply voltage tolerance allows the device to be powered from the same source as the controlled light points.

The power of the power supply should be selected so that it is not lower than the power consumed by the controller (1.5 W) and all light points at 100% brightness. It is recommended that this power be at least 10% higher.

The photo shows the controller powered by a 12 V DC, 60 W power supply.
