History:
PZL.23 Karaś was a Polish light bomber and reconnaissance aircraft. Serial production of version A began in 1936, 40 pieces were built. Variant B, with a changed engine, was produced in 1936-38, completed 240 machines. Bomb squadrons and reconnaissance squadrons of the Polish Air Force were equipped with PZL.23B aircraft, and the A-version aircraft were moved to air schools. Karaś was the main bomber aircraft of the Polish aviation during the German invasion of Poland in September 1939. PZL.42 was an attempt to create a modernized successor for Karaś, only one prototype was built in 1936.
