Left or right scissors?
Right shears are made and sharpened in such a way that you can easily cut arches from left to right.
Left shears are used to cut arches from right to left.
There is often a belief that the right shears are for right-handed and the left for left-handed. This is not true, quite the contrary. If the right-handed person cuts the bow using right shears (i.e. from left to right, see above), then when cutting the wrist is directed outwards. Using left shears (arch cut from right to left), the wrist heads inwards, which is more ergonomic.
