Silver Reed SK155 – knitting machine with perforated class 3 card, which allows knitting thick and very thick yarns. The optimum thickness of yarn is up to 200 m/100 g. Ideal for knitting warm sweaters, coats, socks, hats, etc.

All operations, such as thread feeding, pattern knitting needle selection, thread change when knitting two-tone jacquard, are fully automated and require no effort. Pushing the cart back and forth, the machine automatically knits different patterns from the perforated card.

The Silver Reed SK155 can be attached to the edge of any stable table of the appropriate height with special handles. The Silver folding table, specially designed for knitting machines, is very convenient. Thanks to the closed metal cover, the body of the machine resembles a compact suitcase that can fit all knitting tools and a trolley. The machine has two thread guides and allows you to thread two threads into the trolley at the same time.

Silver Reed offers the SK155 as a large/thick yarn machine. It is a machine with metal bed and automatic patterning by mechanical perforated card. This is a real work ox that will last for many years. SK155 knitting machine has a thickness of 9 mm. It works perfectly with worsted and thick yarns. Thinner yarns will work on this machine, but they will not be as tightly knitted as we would like.

Adjustment of knitting density

Silver Reed SK155 has the ability to adjust the density of knitting. Thanks to a special regulator placed in the trolley, you can choose the density of knitting, from the rare, through which the wind flows freely, to a very dense, non-breathing thread. With this regulator, you can use threads of different thicknesses and get the knitting density you need.

Principle of knitting

Knitting on the Silver Reed SK155 machine is done manually, by dragging the support from left to right (doing 1 row) and back (doing the next row), over and over again. Adding and subtracting meshes is done manually using a manipulator, oriented according to the number of rows.

As with other Silver Reed knitting machines, the needles in the SK155 have four positions: rear free (A), working (B), selected work (C) and front free (D). On the trolley, regardless of the direction of movement, it is possible to interrupt knitting through the perforated card in the position of needle B, as well as to turn on knitting in the position of needle D. The brushes switch from "weaving/collecting" mode to normal mode. The trolley works in 5 modes.

Patterns and perforated cards

The Silver Reed SK155 knitting machine scans patterns from perforated cards. The repeatability of the pattern is 12 needles, it can be repeated 1, 2 or more times, depending on your choice, as well as every 12 needles without restrictions. Special stops allow you to determine where the pattern will be knitted and where it will not. In this way, the initial and final zones in which the pattern will be knitted are determined (the machine is equipped with 4 stops, which means that a maximum of two zones can be set). With the help of special plastic clamps, you can connect the perforated card into a ring, which will be scanned over and over again. The perforated card reader has the ability to disconnect the perforated card, as well as double the vertical pattern – in this case, each row from the perforated card will be knitted twice.

Performance

The performance of the Silver Reed SK155 knitting machine depends on the complexity of the pattern and may vary. Most often a simple weave is made – if the density of the weave is correctly selected, it takes only 1-3 seconds to make one row. The cap can be made in 5 minutes. Men's sweater within a few hours (if the product pattern has already been made).
