*IMPORTANT: The given lift is checked using a special forcemeter, where the magnet is "glued" to a thick, even, steel surface and this is the maximum value.
The stated lifting capacity will be less for thin, uneven, paint-coated or rusted metals. In extreme cases, depending on the size, shape, iron content, as well as the state of the attracted object, the attraction force can drop to 0. The lifting capacity is a comparative parameter, while the operating range, i.e. the range of the magnetic field generated by the magnet, is an important parameter for determining the effectiveness of the magnet search.
High lift does not guarantee fruitful search - the range of the field may be too small to find and fish anything.
How do we measure the scope of action?
It is checked with a special magnetic field meter, which determines how large the range of the magnetic field is, expressed in centimeters and how high the density of the magnetic field is, expressed in the unit Gauss [Gs] or Tesla [T]

The thickness of the neodymium magnet housing matters.
Why?
One pole of the magnet acts directly on the attracted object, and the other saturates with its energy enclosure / handle, which in such a system also emits its own magnetic field.
Both the housing material, wall thickness and magnetic gap are of great importance in terms of maximum use of magnetic properties and protection of the magnet embedded in them.
