Samyang continues to develop versatile and dynamic zooms for Sony E-mount.

The expansion in the zoom world was initiated by the popular 24-70mm F2.8, which was very well received for its excellent optical performance. Now the brand is introducing a more efficient and dynamic zoom – the new AF 35-150mm F2-2.8 FE.

The new lens is versatile! Just as good for photography as it is for video content. The dynamic focal length covers a wide range of photographic scenarios, from portraits to travel, from the street to the landscape.

The AF 35-150mm F2-2.8 FE features a maximum aperture of F2 at its widest range and F2,8 at tele and includes five of the most popular focal lengths 35, 50, 85, 135 and 150 mm. The lens design consists of 21 elements in 18 groups with a combination of 2 ASP, 1 HB, 3 HR and 6 ED elements, thanks to which the lens provides excellent optical performance across the entire focal range.

The UMC (Ultra Multi-Coating) technology used in the lenses minimizes flares, which helps to achieve natural and clear images. The large aperture effectively helps to separate the object from the background, and the 9 aperture leaves create a smooth and attractive bokeh.

The linear stepper motor (STM) is fast and highly sensitive, making it suitable for both photographers and filmmakers. It provides excellent focus tracking and smooth transitions. When recording videos, the AF speed is more carefully adjusted to mimic the focus adjustment of a cinema lens. When switched to linear MF, the focus control adjusts the torque of the focus ring as close as possible to the moment of manual focusing.

The lens features a digital parfocal design dedicated to video recordings. When focusing on an object in MF mode, focus does not require readjustment, even when enlarged or reduced. This allows filmmakers to reduce time and enable accurate and stable filming. Samyang also managed to minimize the effect of “breathing” when changing focus.

The lens is fully sealed against adverse weather conditions, moreover, this has been achieved in 12 sectors of the lens, which further prevents damage or contamination by dust, light rain and snow.

The user can individualize the lens control by using three switches so-called. individual modes. We have settings at our disposal: focus save, dolly shot, aperture ring and many others. Using the Samyang update station, you will be able to assign further functions to switches in the future.

MOD (Minimum Object Distance) is only 0,33 m. Combined with a bright lens aperture, this gives a unique perspective close to the subject with a beautifully blurred background.
