Universal zoom

Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN | Contemporary is a lens that is perfect for photojournalism, documentary photography, architecture, portraiture, fashion, street or travel. It's also a great basic lens for general use. It will also be great for filming. Its focal range corresponds to 27-75 mm viewing angles for full-frame format. This makes it cover both wide angle and short tele.

Advanced optical design

The lens provides a great image for the entire focal range. This allows the use of an advanced, refined optical design that includes 3 aspherical elements and 1 lens with a low refractive index (SLD). This equipment provides high optical quality as well as excellent sharpness regardless of which viewing angle you use.

Light f/2.8

Use different focal lengths, but keep the same minimum aperture f/2.8. Shoot comfortably from your hand even with a small amount of light or use atmospheric, muffled light found in dark rooms or at e.g. candlelight. The f/2.8 aperture also means a small depth of field and the possibility of obtaining an extremely plastic image. It is also an opportunity to give up flash wherever it is necessary (e.g. in museums), as well as when using the flash would disturb the mood of photography. Constant light force allows the same exposure conditions to be maintained after focal change. This is especially beneficial when filming.
