Sigma 28-70 mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary with Sony E bayonet is a versatile, standard zoom with a fixed maximum aperture of F2.8. Developed specifically for mirrorless cameras, it uses the technological solutions of the 24-70 mm f/2.8 DG DN Art model, but with a slightly narrower focal range starting from 28 mm. Thanks to this, it is characterized by significantly lower weight and dimensions, while maintaining excellent optical parameters and strength. It is perfect for working in adverse lighting conditions, ensuring perfect image quality and full control over the depth of field.

Sigma 28-70 mm f/2.8 Contemporary - reference optical system

The optical track uses 16 elements in 12 groups, the design includes two low-dispersion FLD and two SLD elements and three aspherical elements that reduce various aberrations for high sharpness, increased clarity and color accuracy. The lens surfaces have been coated with Super Multi-Layer and Nano Porous coatings that improve contrast and color reproduction, suppressing flare and ghosting effects for optimal light transmission. NPC (Nano Porous Coating) lens coating technology uses porous silica as a coating element. The porous silica layer has nanometer holes with air inside. Holes of this size allow a significant reduction in the refractive index, which allows you to reduce the reflectivity more than in conventional anti-reflective coatings. As a result, the amount of reflected light causing flares and reflections was significantly reduced, which in turn allowed for high contrast when shooting against the light.
