The main task of chalk is to normalize the optimal PH of water in the reservoir (7-8) thanks to which we have optimal conditions for fish, plants, the entire ecosystem and unfavorable conditions for algae development.

The transparency of water consists of many factors:

SUBSTRATE, VEGETATION,FLOW,DEEPNESS,NUMBER OF FISH.

The use of chalk does not guarantee after a short time that the water will be transparent but it is a basic procedure to be able to normalize the environment, reduce the occurrence of algae, minimize the risk of thrush in fish.

In the case of shallow ponds, filtration is very important.

(The content of calcium carbonate in the soil is an indicator that says a lot about the quality of the soil – the less it contains CaCO3, the less efficient and stable the substrate, the equally this applies to water reservoirs where the pH should be normalized so that the water does not bloom and there are no PH fluctuations)
