Air curtain FLOWAIR SLIM W-200 water white is a modern device designed to protect wide entrances against uncontrolled air exchange between the interior of the building and the environment. The intense and properly directed stream produced by the fans creates an invisible barrier in the plane of the door opening. It reduces the influx of cold air during the heating season, and in summer it makes it difficult for hot air to enter the air-conditioned room.

The FLOWAIR SLIM W-200 model is equipped with a water heat exchanger, which allows heating of the supplied air using a central heating system. The curtain can cooperate with a boiler, municipal district heating network, heat pump or other source providing heating medium with appropriate parameters. The combination of an air barrier with a warm air supply improves the comfort of people using the entrance and reduces the feeling of coolness that appears when opening the door.

The length of the device of 2000 mm allows you to secure a wide passage with one device. FLOWAIR SLIM W-200 can be used over automatic, sliding, double-leaf doors and large entrances located in glazed facades. The white RAL 9003 housing with black RAL 9005 elements blends well with bright walls, aluminum joinery and modern equipment of commercial, office and service facilities.

Advantages of the FLOWAIR SLIM air curtain

Effective protection of wide entrance

Frequent opening of the door can cause rapid cooling of the entrance area and increase the load on the main heating system. Cold air coming from the outside creates unpleasant drafts and worsens the comfort of people near the entrance. The FLOWAIR SLIM W-200 curtain reduces the scale of this phenomenon by creating a stable stream covering the width of a properly selected door opening.

The device offers three levels of performance. At the highest gear, the airflow is 2910 m³/h, at an average of 2260 m³/h, and at the lowest 1760 m³/h. The adjustment allows you to adjust the airflow intensity to the mounting height, door opening frequency, temperature difference and weather conditions.

The maximum range of the air stream is 3,5 m. In the second gear, the range reaches 2,8 m, and in the first 2,1 m. The appropriate speed selection allows you to maintain a balance between barrier effectiveness, noise level and electricity consumption.

Water heat exchanger up to 29,3 kW

FLOWAIR SLIM W-200 uses a water heat exchanger with a wide range of heating power from 3,7 to 29,3 kW. Actual power depends on the temperature of the feed water, the air temperature at the inlet, the flow of the medium and the selected fan gear. This allows you to adapt the operation of the device to both low-temperature installations and traditional central heating systems.

The temperature increase of the supplied air can range from 4 to 30,5°C. A warm stream improves conditions in the entrance area and reduces the feeling of coolness by customers, employees and other users of the building. The solution is particularly useful when the reception desk, cash register, service station or waiting room is close to the door.

The maximum permissible temperature of the heating medium is 110°C and the maximum working pressure of the installation is 1,6 MPa. Connection of the water exchanger is made using connectors with an internal thread 1/2 in. The exchanger can be fed with water or glycol solution with a concentration of up to 60%, provided that the required quality parameters of the agent are maintained.

Low electricity consumption

In the water version, the energy needed to heat the air comes from the heating system of the building. Electricity is used primarily by fans and a built-in automation system. FLOWAIR SLIM W-200 requires a single-phase power supply of 230 V / 50 Hz and does not need a high-power three-phase connection, characteristic of curtains with electric heaters.

The rated power consumption is 230W on the third gear, 150W on the second and 115W on the first. The current consumption is 1,0 A, 0,6 A and 0,5 A respectively. This allows for high airflow efficiency with relatively low electricity demand.

The water variant is particularly advantageous in buildings where the central heating system has already been brought near the entrance. The device can use the available heat source, while supporting the maintenance of a more stable temperature in the room.

Built-in motion sensor and Plug&Play control

The FLOWAIR SLIM W-200 air curtain has a factory integrated automation system. Switches located on the side of the housing allow you to start the fan, change gear and turn on the opening signal of the optional water valve. Basic operation of the device does not require mounting an additional wall panel.

The built-in motion sensor allows you to automatically start the curtain when a person is detected in the entrance area. The device operates according to the settings selected on the switches, and then turns off after a set time if the sensor does not detect the next movement. The solution allows you to reduce the need for manual operation and adjust the working time of the curtain to the actual use of the door.

The sensor range can be adjusted from 2 to 6 m, while the shutdown delay from 10 to 420 seconds. Sensitivity adjustment depending on light intensity is also available. This allows you to adjust the detection area to the input system and limit accidental start-up of the device by movement outside the appropriate zone.

Possibility of expanding automation

FLOWAIR SLIM W-200 can work with an optional TS controller equipped with a thermostat and three-stage fan speed control. The use of a regulator allows you to make the operation of the device dependent on the temperature in the room and conveniently change the intensity of the air supply from the wall panel.

A more extensive system can use the T-box or T-box Zone controller along with the DRV Slim module. This solution enables integration with the BMS building management system and the FLOWAIR SYSTEM. The curtain can then work together with heaters, destratifiers and other ventilation and heating devices.

Optional two-way or three-way valves with actuator can be used to regulate the supply of the heating medium. The built-in heating switch controls the valve opening signal, so that the water flow through the exchanger can be limited when heating is not needed.

Acoustic comfort and adjustable performance

The sound pressure level measured at a distance of 5 m shall be 58 dB(A) on the third gear, 45 dB(A) on the second and 37 dB(A) on the first gear. When measured at a distance of 3 m, the values are 59, 46 and 38 dB(A), respectively.

The ability to change the performance allows you to reduce the noise level during periods of less traffic. The highest gear can be used during intensive use of the entrance, with a greater temperature difference or adverse weather conditions. The lowest speed will work in quieter working hours, when the door is opened less often.

Proper gear setting provides an effective barrier without unnecessarily increasing the intensity of the air supply. This is especially important in hotels, offices, restaurants, showrooms and other representative spaces.

Optional Coarse 30% filter

The FLOWAIR SLIM W-200 curtain has been adapted to work with the optional external Coarse 30% filter, mounted on the upper surface of the device. The filter reduces the entry of larger contaminants into the housing, helps protect the water heat exchanger and makes it easier to keep the device clean.

After applying the filter, the capacity is 1900 m³/h on the third gear, 1600 m³/h on the second and 1350 m³/h on the first. The filter module can be particularly useful in facilities located on busy streets, parking lots, delivery yards and in places with increased dust levels.

The barrier produced by the curtain can further limit the entry of dust, exhaust fumes, smog, insects and other contaminants into the interior. The device does not replace mechanical ventilation or air purifier, but helps protect the entrance zone from the direct influence of the external environment.

Slim and aesthetically pleasing design

The FLOWAIR SLIM W-200 housing is made of powder coated steel. The white colour RAL 9003 is combined with the black elements RAL 9005 for a modern and versatile finish. The device fits well with bright walls, suspended ceilings, glazing and aluminum door profiles.

The total length of the curtain is 2000 mm, while the length of the body marked as dimension A is 1946 mm. The height of the device is 189 mm and the depth is 399 mm. The slim form allows you to mount the curtain also in places where the space between the upper edge of the door and the ceiling is limited.

The weight of the device without a factor is 26,9 kg, while after filling with water it increases to about 28,1 kg. These values should be taken into account when preparing the supporting structure and selecting fastening elements.

Horizontal or vertical mounting

The FLOWAIR SLIM W-200 can be mounted horizontally above the door or vertically at the side edge of the entrance. For horizontal installation, the stream should cover the entire width of the hole. In the vertical position, the air supply should protect the full height of the passage.

Installation can be done using optional mounting brackets or threaded rods attached to the ceiling. The vertical variant works well where there are glazing, advertisements, technical installations or other elements preventing traditional placement of the device above the door.

The curtain is designed for indoor use at temperatures above 0°C. The IP20 rating means that the device should work in a dry room and must not be directly exposed to precipitation, flooding or water jets.
