The Sonmol digital peak flow meter is a practical device for home monitoring of lung function. It allows you to measure two important parameters: PEF, i.e. the maximum speed of air flow during exhalation, and FEV1, i.e. the amount of air exhaled in the first second. Thanks to this, the user can regularly observe his respiratory condition and notice changes faster, which are worth consulting a doctor.

The device has a clear LCD screen, and the test result can be marked with an indicator in one of three zones: green, yellow or red. When you set the expected value, the symbol on the screen helps you assess faster whether the result is within a safer range, czy requires more attention. This is especially useful for people with asthma, COPD, respiratory problems, as well as for smokers and athletes monitoring respiratory performance.

The data version works without Bluetooth, so the results should be saved manually – e.g. in the ePEF application, which allows you to keep an asthma log, peak flow log and track trends over time. The device is powered by 2 AAA batteries, and the compact design allows you to use it at home, on the go, or during daily inspection.

➡ How to take a measurement

1. Turn on the device with the Home button.
2. Take a deep breath with your mouth.
3. Cover the mouthpiece tightly with your mouth.
4. Blow the air out as fast and as hard as possible.
5. Wait for two beeps.
6. Read the PEF and FEV1 score on the screen.
7. Save the result manually in the ePEF application or in the log.

1. Get the expected value from a QR calculator or from a doctor.
2. Turn off the device.
3. Hold down the Home button for approx. 5 seconds.
4. Change the value with the Home button.
5. Hold down 2 to 3 seconds to save the number and move on.
6. Once saved, the device will indicate the risk zone with color.

1. Remove the mouthpiece and air tube if they need cleaning.
2. Wash the components according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
3. Before reassembling, make sure the components are dry.
