The tent is made of metallized polyester (mylar), which is characterized by high thermal insulation properties. This material reflects up to 90% of the heat radiation emitted by the body, which significantly reduces the risk of cooling the body. Thanks to this, the tent is used in emergency situations – after accidents, during a sudden drop in temperature in the field or in the case of the need to protect a person immobilized in adverse weather conditions.

The material of the tent is completely waterproof and resistant to wind penetration, thanks to which it creates an effective barrier against weather conditions. It protects the user from rain, snow, moisture and gusty gusts, which is crucial in emergency situations or when camping in difficult conditions. The hydrophobic properties of the material prevent seepage, and its windproofness reduces heat loss caused by convection.

In practice, this means that the tent not only helps to retain heat by reflecting the body's heat radiation (thanks to the mylar layer), but also supports the maintenance of thermal comfort by minimizing the impact of external weather conditions. Such protection allows for more effective survival of a sudden breakdown of weather, accommodation in the field without additional shelter or a situation when it is necessary to quickly protect the injured person from cooling down.

The BIVVY emergency tent also acts as a large sleeping bag. Thanks to its universal design, it can be used in two ways:
