• Regarding New‑Unit Smell & Factory Test Residue:​ The water‑contact parts of this product are made of food‑contact compliant, BPA‑free​ materials (where applicable). Every unit may undergo a strict pre‑shipment water‑filling / function test​ to check sealing, cooling and heating. Therefore, you may notice small amounts of residual water, light water marks​ inside the tank or tubing, and minor handling marks​ on the surface. These are normal quality‑control traces​ and do not​ mean the unit is used or second‑hand; every machine is 100% new. A slight plastic odour​ after opening is also normal in a sealed package; it is harmless​ and will fade after ventilation and first rinsing.
• Recommended First‑Use Steps:​ To enjoy fresh water immediately, we suggest one of the following:
• Ventilation Method:​ Remove the “Smart Base”​ (the component that holds the water bottle/cap) and place it in a well‑ventilated area​ for a few hours. Wipe any visible water marks with a clean, soft, damp cloth.
• Cleaning / Rinsing Method:​ Fill the tank with clean water only and run it through the hot and cold taps​ once or twice; discard this water. For odour or limescale prevention, use a solution of white vinegar​ (e.g. approx. 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water) or a food‑grade descaler​ following the product manual—typically soak 20–30 minutes, then drain completely via the drain valve/outlet​ and rinse with clean water 2–3 times​ until no vinegar taste remains.
• Safety & Compliance Notes for the EU:​ This appliance is intended for indoor domestic use.
