The filtering factor in BRITA P1000 cartridges is activated carbon. Organic material made from wood or nutshells. It allows the absorption of organic pollutants, i.e. substances of natural and chemical origin, which negatively affect the smell and transparency of water. Effectively reduces chlorine and chlorine compounds.
Another filtering agent used in the filter is an ion exchanger. It contains waterproof ions, which are exchanged for calcium ions. Thanks to this, stone sediment is removed. In addition, it has the ability to bind lead and other heavy metals, soluble in water, e.g. copper.
