It combines the classic design of the analog camera from Nikon with advanced Z-series technology, which provides new possibilities. It is a perfect combination of past and present.
True capabilities of the full-frame camera. Pure creativity
The classic look and knobs of the Z f may resemble 35mm SLR cameras from the old days, but this full-frame mirrorless camera was created with today’s challenges in mind — to meet your creative needs. A full-frame CMOS sensor with a resolution of 24,5 million pixels combined with an EXPEED 7 processor and plenty of light recessed through the Z mount gives you more freedom to create. Sharpness, contrast, color accuracy, dynamic range, focus precision, low-light photo quality – you get the tools you need to create your own unique style. The EXPEED 7 processor, used in professional models Z 8 and Z 9 from Nikon, guarantees perfect cooperation of all camera functions. It controls AF with deep learning algorithms that allow the Nikon Zf to detect and track more objects than any other system mirrorless camera. It forms the basis for a unique vibration reduction built into the camera, which allows you to extend the shutter speed by 8,0 degrees. * In addition, with the EXPEED 7 processor, the sensor can provide such clear, noise-free images at high ISOs. When shooting, the Nikon Z f provides a native ISO 100 – 64000 sensitivity range (expandable to 204800 in Hi 1.7 mode). When filming, the maximum native ISO is 51200 (expandable to 204800 in Hi 2 mode). Whether you're shooting in the evening or in worse lighting, you'll want to get detailed photos in full sun. You'll capture the perfect shot.
New body - full factory set.
Revolutionary stability thanks to exceptional vibration reduction
There has never been such a vibration reduction (VR). The unique vibration reduction (VR) system used in the Nikon Z f guarantees image stability – thanks to the camera’s built-in incredible 5-axis stabilization mechanism with 8,0-degree efficiency and the world’s first VR AF field function.1,2 For images, the VR AF field function provides truly revolutionary control over the sharpest point of the frame. Instead of simply stabilizing the center of the image, the VR system stabilizes the active AF field. Whether you’re composing a shot with a focus point at the edge of the frame or tracking a fast-moving subject, you’ll reliably get focus where it matters. During filming, you can simultaneously use the VR system built into the camera with matrix offset and electronic vibration reduction.3 You will be able to smoothly capture shots recorded during the march, and if you use the NIKKOR Z wide-angle lens, any trapezoidal distortion will be corrected. Photos or videos, the VR system built into the camera is great for stabilizing fixed focal length lenses. You can even attach valuable, classic NIKKOR F-mount lenses and take advantage of all the advantages of the VR system on the Z f camera, extending the shutter speed by 8 degrees without compromising the quality of the photo.
Object detection even when manually focusing
With the processing power of the EXPEED 7 processor and deep learning technology, this full-frame mirrorless camera provides the best support for manual focusing: object detection. If you enable object detection when shooting with manual focus (MF), the Nikon Zf will recognize the subject and automatically set the focus field on it. This is a real time saver when you take portraits of people, animals or birds, because you can rely on a camera that will shift the focus field to your face or eye. You can focus on the composition. Object detection in MF mode works regardless of whether you are shooting with a viewfinder or monitor. You can also use it when shooting with classic F-mount lenses.
Get stunning detail with pixel offset shooting
For the first time, the Nikon Z camera offers a pixel offset shooting function that allows you to combine up to 32 photos to create extremely detailed images with ultra-high resolution and spectacular color reproduction. This feature is ideal for shooting in controlled studio conditions — or for scenes where the subject being photographed is completely stationary. Select a one-pixel offset to get a 24 million pixel RAW file from the combination of four or eight images, corresponding to the size of four frames in RAW format. Or enable a 0,5 pixel offset to create a RAW file from a combination of 16 or 32 photos, which has an impressive resolution of 96 million pixels, with a maximum image size equivalent to 16 frames in RAW format. When eight or 32 images are combined, the mora effect, color distortions and noise are dramatically reduced. Combined with the excellent performance of the focus system used in the Nikon Zf camera, the results of pixel offset shooting are astounding. From stunning to amazing, there’s really nothing in between.
Fully rotating, movable monitor
The rotating, movable touchscreen monitor, used for the first time in the full-frame Nikon Z camera, makes it easy to shoot from any angle while maintaining a clear view of the frame. In addition, you get a whole new way of assigning shooting functions using touch Fn. Touch FN allows you to assign key controls to nine customizable areas on a bright, high-resolution touchscreen. It’s a flexible and intuitive way to operate your camera: just tap an area to move the AF field, switch between the eyes of people being photographed, select a grid display, turn on the virtual horizon, and more. With the touch FN enabled, you can, looking through the viewfinder, compose a shot, and at the same time using your thumb, focus on the monitor. The monitor or viewfinder, no matter how you shoot, the operation is smooth. If you rotate the camera to shoot in a vertical frame, the on-screen menu and elements will be displayed in portrait orientation. And when you turn the monitor to itself, the camera will automatically switch to self-portrait mode.
