The MiG-29 (NATO Fulcrum) is a Russian modern front-line fighter jet.

The MiG-29 jet aircraft was designed in 1972 to replace the MiG-21 and MiG-23 with more modern ones. The plane was to be called. A light front fighter, complementing the heavy Su-27 air superiority fighter. The design focused on achieving good volatile and maneuverable parameters obtained by refining the aerodynamic concept.

The first prototype took to the air on October 6, 1977, and the first serial MiG-29 9.12 aircraft ("Fulcrum-A") entered service in 1984.

Polish aviation service: Since 1989, the aircraft has been used by the Air Force of the Republic of Poland. The first presentation of the MiG-29 fighter aircraft to the Polish military delegation led by the Head of Aviation Technology General Mieczysław Sikorski took place in October 1985 at Kubinka Airport near Moscow. The Polish side was initially interested in purchasing 36 single-seat combat aircraft and 6 two-seater training and combat aircraft, which were to be introduced to the equipment of two regiments of the fighter air force of the National Air Defense Forces (1 plm OPK - Minsk Mazowiecki, 1st OPK Corps and 62nd OPK - Poznań-Krzesiny, 3rd OPK Corps). It was not until 1987 that the Ministry of National Defense placed an order for the first nine MiG-29 combat aircraft and three MiG-29UB training and combat aircraft. Five more copies were then ordered. In February 1989, sixty people were sent to the USSR for training, who in the future were to deal with the use of new fighters, including twelve selected pilots. The training conducted in Frunze lasted three months; it was the first and last training of Polish MiG-29 fighter aircraft pilots in the USSR. Instructors were trained there, who then scoured the next groups in the country.
