Half-frame format 17 x 24 mm

PENTAX 17 uses a half-frame format, where on one 35 mm (24 x 36 mm) frame there are two 17 x 24 mm photos. The camera has a horizontal movement mechanism of the film, thanks to which the photos have a vertical orientation, known from smartphone photography.

More photos for the same price

The half-frame format allows you to take twice as many photos on one film. For example, on a standard 24-frame film we will register as many as 48 frames. It saves costs and more opportunities for creative shots – you can compose double frames and tell stories with them.

Simple operation

The Pentax 17 camera is very intuitive to use, even for users who are just starting their adventure with analog photography. Setting the camera in Auto mode allows you to enjoy the first steps in the world of film. Other shooting modes, on the other hand, allow the user to develop their skills and creativity.

Seven shooting modes

Pentax 17 has as many as 7 shooting modes , thanks to which the user can develop his/her analog photography even further, using it in a classic or more creative way. Auto (A) – full automatic with autoflash, Program (P- white) – focus zone selection, no flash, Long exposure – good for twilight, Bokeh – maximum aperture opening, Bulb (B) – long exposure using a cable release, Program with flash (P yellow) – for photos against the light, Flash + long exposure – bright foreground.

25 mm F3.5 lens

PENTAX 17 is equipped with a fixed focal length 25 mm F3.5 lens (equivalent to 37 mm for a full frame). Its design is based on the legendary RICOH Auto Half and PENTAX Espio Mini models. The lenses are coated with HD and SP coatings, ensuring high image quality and classic film colors.

Central shutter and bokeh

The lens has a precise, electronically controlled central shutter. Its combination with optics makes the photos characterized by a beautiful, soft background blur (bokeh).

Six Focus Zones

The zone focus system allows you to quickly choose the right setting: a long plan (from 5,1 m to ∞) – landscapes, medium distance (2,1 – 5,3 m) – group shots, close distance (1,4 – 2,2 m) – wide portraits, photos of the entire figure, very close plan (1,0 – 1,4 m) – portraits, macro (0,24 – 0,26 m) – details, small objects. For ease of use, the length of the strap attached to the camera corresponds to the distance of the camera from the object when using the macro mode.

Manual selection of ISO sensitivity

PENTAX 17 allows you to manually set the sensitivity of ISO from 50 to 3200, which allows you to experiment with different types of videos.

Film Label Holder

To remember what film you are using, just insert the end of the film packaging into a special holder on the camera housing.
