Analog camera Pentax 17
Pentax 17 is a small, easy-to-use analog camera for 35mm film, which allows you to get 72 frames from a traditional 36-frame film. It is equipped with a high-end, bright, wide-angle 25mm f/3.5 lens (equivalent to 37mm), an optical viewfinder and a built-in flash. The camera has a manual focus mechanism. The exposure is set automatically with the possibility of selecting different shooting modes. Stylish, made partly of metal Pentax 17 has a mechanism for manually scrolling the film, both between exposures and finally, when rolling the roll.
Half-frame format
PENTAX 17 is characterized by a half-frame format, in which two 17 x 24 mm images are recorded on one 35 mm (36 x 24 mm) frame. With the horizontal setting of the camera, photographs are taken in vertical format, similarly to photos known from social media taken using smartphones.
Pentax 17 has a manual scrolling mechanism known from analog SLR cameras PENTAX. The easy film loading system is designed to prevent errors when setting up a video, allowing novice users to get started with the camera quickly. The camera also features other mechanisms unique to analog cameras, such as a hand scrolling crank, exposure compensation knob, and ISO sensitivity setting knob.
Lens
PENTAX 17 has a newly developed fixed focal length lens 25mm f/3.5 (corresponding to a 37mm lens in a small image format). This lens is based on the optics used in the acclaimed PENTAX Espio Mini model (launched in 1994) and has been redesigned to fit perfectly into the half-frame format. It is also coated with HD (High Definition) to optimize the clarity and sharpness of your photos. Using the lens from the Ricoh Auto Half model (the best-selling half-frame model, launched in 1962) as a reference point, the focal point was chosen to make everyday, free-taking photos simple and flawless.
Zoned focus
The zone focus system is used to determine the area of greatest focus using a dedicated switch. There are six zones to choose from. All the user needs to do to focus the camera is select the character on the ring that best suits the distance to the object. In the macro zone, the user can take a photo from a distance of about 25cm. Hand strap (included as a standard accessory) has exactly this length and allows the user to measure the distance to the subject being photographed.
The optical viewfinder of the PENTAX 17 camera has a sight with a bright frame type Albada. It also comes with a field-of-view compensation frame, making it easy to compose proximity photos. It is possible to directly check the selected focus zone in the viewfinder.
Shooting modes
The PENTAX 17 automatically adjusts exposure settings based on the data collected by the light measurement sensor. In addition to the Full Automation mode, where all exposure settings are selected by the camera, it offers six other shooting modes. For example, sync with long exposure times will be useful when shooting at dusk, and the Bulb mode will allow you to shoot night landscapes and fireworks.
The camera also features an independent exposure compensation knob, which allows the user to quickly change the exposure level to adapt to different types of objects or express the user's creative intentions.
The PENTAX 17 body has a classic design, referring to the traditional look of analog cameras. The top and bottom covers are made of solid but lightweight magnesium alloy to optimize the rigidity of the camera body. Mounting thread circular filters with a diameter of 40,5mm allows the user to install a number of color, polarizing or gray filters available on the market. With attention to every detail, the PENTAX 17 is designed to be a real pleasure to use.
