The Sonel TDR-420 reflectometer is a handy digital pulse locator (TDR). Time-domain Reflectometer) designed to identify and locate damage in power, telecommunications and telecommunications cables. The Sonel TDR-420 reflectometer allows you to measure the length of the cable and determine the distance to damage or impedance change in the range from 4 to 6000 m in wires with metal conductors. The shortest measuring range with a range of 7 meters and a dead zone length of 0,6 meters allows you to locate damage in very close proximity to the place of connection of the device.

Possibilities of the device

The SONEL reflectometer has a long operating range of up to 6000 m, a very small measurement error of 1% and the ability to adjust the propagation coefficient and wave impedance of the tested cable. Determining the distance to two damages and the distance between them will not be a problem now thanks to the use of the two cursor function.

Ease of reading

The TDR-420 reflectometer is equipped with a clear color display, which thanks to the resolution of 320 x 240 pixels allows for even more accurate indication of the place of damage.

Built-in help system

The TDR-420 has added a handy help function that makes it easier to interpret the result of the measurement during its duration. Thanks to this function, the user is able to determine the type of anomaly that occurs on the cable section by comparing the reflectogram on the display with typical damage shapes in a short time.

Resistant and practical housing

In response to customer needs, the new TDR-420 is designed to operate in harsh environmental conditions. Protection against water and dust ingress is provided by a unique housing with IP67 protection level. An additional advantage is the elastomer coating of the case, which at the same time prevents the device from slipping out of the hand and provides protection against the effects of accidental falls.
