The Renolux Olymp i-Size car seat is a proposal from a French manufacturer for children from 76 to 150 cm tall. It can be used by children from the age of approx. 15 months to 12 years of age. It has an i-Size standard, which provides a higher level of safety than the old approval. The seat is recommended by the French parent association Sécurange.

Olympus i-Size, like other multi-group models, has two stages of use. Children between 76 and 105 cm tall are fastened with internal 5-point safety harness, adjustable in length. The maximum weight of a child who can travel while fastened with internal harnesses is 19 kg. During this period, the seat itself is fastened in the car with ISOFIX attachment. An additional stabilizing element in this model is the Top-Tether anchor belt.

Elders with a height of 100-150 cm are already fastened directly with a car belt, thus giving up the previously used harnesses. The installation of the car seat itself remains unchanged - we still use ISOFIX and the Top-Tether belt for this purpose.

Interestingly, side protectors, which increase the safety of the child during side collisions, can be disassembled and hidden in a specially designed pocket for storing them.

A practical solution is also the mechanism of adjusting the seat position, which provides the ability to tilt and position it in one of the 3 available positions. Thanks to the 12-step height adjustment of the headrest, the parent can adjust the seat to the needs of the child. A soft and removable reducing insole will certainly help in the fit.

The seat is very easy to keep clean. The upholstery is made of a touch-friendly material, and thanks to the patented SOFTNESS technology, it is environmentally friendly. In addition, the material is practically seamless. You can easily remove it from the seat and wash it at 30 degrees Celsius.

Renolux Olymp i-Size safety and ADAC testing

Renolux Olym is a car seat that was tested in the German ADAC in October 2020. It is worth mentioning that several types of collisions were taken into account - frontal, lateral and rear. The mannequins that participated in the tests faithfully reproduce the body of children. Olymp scored an overall score of 2.9, giving it three stars out of five possible. In the case of a safety rating, Olymp received a rating of 2.8, which also translates to three stars.

ADAC is a German automobile with over 17 million car enthusiasts. ADAC conducts tests on child seats. It has been evaluating them on a scale of 1-5. The German rating system applies (the lower the rating, the better). In Poland, for a better understanding of the results of ADAC tests, "asterisks" are used, so when the ADAC car seat receives a rating of 1 - "sehr gut" (very good), in Poland it is said that it has 5 stars *****.
