The car speakers of the German brand EXCURSION SX series were designed in Germany for universal applications and as excellent and inexpensive replacements for factory speaker systems (OEM). During the construction of the speakers in this series, a number of proven natural materials, technologies and solutions were used, which for many years have been recognized as one of the best for this type of products offered by the Home and Car Audio industry, also in models positioned in a much higher price class. These include, among others, retail-sounding silk tweeter domes and rigid and lightweight woofer membranes made of 2-layer pressed paper externally impregnated with a special anti-resonance substance. It has been known for a long time that paper membranes provide the most dynamic, faithful and natural sound of low and medium tones. Especially for the Excursion SX series, rigid steel wofer baskets have also been designed in the Euro-DIN standard for easy installation. The baskets have additional holes symmetrically distributed under the lower suspension, whose task is to support the ventilation and cooling system of the coil. Thanks to this, the coils are even more resistant to higher power loads. All this makes the SX series Excursion speakers clearly distinguished in their class primarily by high performance, sound quality, ease of installation and attractive price. It is also an excellent solution for those who would like to start their adventure with car audio by gradually completing a good quality audio system at a moderate price.

Excursion SX-6C

2-way car component speaker system with a woofer diameter of 165 mm. The set includes 2 tweeters, 2 mid-woofers and 4 Plug&Play crossovers separate for each speaker. The crossovers are equipped with high-quality MKP capacitors and provide a wide range of connection configurations (e.g. Bi-Wiring). Woofer magnets have central vents that ventilate and lower the resonant frequency (FS), as well as further improve the efficiency of the coil cooling system. On the other hand, woofer diaphragms have received specially designed dust caps (dustcap) in the style of phase equalizers, whose task is to improve the sound of medium tones in the event of too large listening angle (e.g. with low positioning of door woofers).

ATTENTION!

Operation of the set without properly connected crossovers threatens permanent damage to tweeters. Such damage is not covered by the warranty.

Depending on the location of the tweeters and the direction of the tweeters and the distance between the speakers and the listener, in some cases it may be helpful to change the polarity of the tweeter wires (replacement of tweeter wires). This is aimed at more accurate alignment of the frequency-phase characteristics around the crossover division point, if at this point an unfavourable boost of this part of the acoustic band would be created, which is most often manifested by a stronger exposure of the higher parts of the midrange. Crossover connectors are designed to easily change the polarity of tweeters.

In order to lower the signal level for tweeters and adjust their volume to your preferences, you can use easy-to-install resistive Excursion XRL silencers (sold separately), lowering the signal level in the range of 2-10dB.
