The most common standard is 12V, widely used in passenger cars, caravans, vans and light vehicles. 24V units are typically designed for heavy trucks, buses and larger commercial vehicles. Choosing the correct voltage ensures safe operation and avoids damage to the inverter or battery.

Once the voltage is confirmed, selecting the right power rating is essential. It determines which devices and how many appliances can be powered simultaneously. To choose correctly, check the rated power on each device you plan to use. If multiple devices are connected at the same time, their power draw must be added together.
