Application of the above-mentioned cables:

Starter cables are designed to assist the start-up of a vehicle with a discharged battery using the current drawn from the battery of another vehicle.

Safe rules when using jumper cables:

• The parameters of the jumper cables shall be appropriate to the size of the current consumed by the starter of the vehicle being started.
• The cables shall be laid in a safe place in the starting and assisting start-up vehicle which prevents contact with moving parts of the engine.
• The insulation of the wires must not be damaged, as it can lead to a short circuit with the mass of the vehicle and cause a fire.

Connecting Cables and Starting the Vehicle

Check your vehicle's manual for any contraindications to starting the vehicle in the manner described below, which could cause damage to certain electronic components of the vehicle.

• Turn off the engines of both the vehicle with the dead battery and the assisting vehicle.
• The gear shift levers of both vehicles should be in the neutral position.
• Connect the red (+) clamp of the jumper cable to the (+) terminal of the discharged battery. Connect the other end of the red cable clamp to the (+) terminal of the assisting vehicle's battery.
• Connect the black (−) clamp of the jumper cable to the (−) terminal of the discharged battery. Connect the other end of the black cable clamp to the (−) terminal of the assisting vehicle's battery.
• Start the engine of the vehicle with the discharged battery for **no longer than 3–5 seconds**.
• If the vehicle's engine does not start, **repeat the attempt several times**, observing approximately **1-minute breaks** between attempts.
• If **5 attempts** to start the vehicle are unsuccessful, the vehicle should be taken for repair at an **Authorized Service Center**.
• Disconnect the jumper cables in the reverse order.
