The STIHL MS 172 combustion saw is a versatile combustion saw and whether you are a home user, a professional in gardening and landscape architecture, or a craftsman it is perfect for cutting down small trees, cutting firewood and small care and craft work on the property.

The STIHL MS 172 diesel saw is equipped with a powerful STIHL 2-MIX engine, which is known for its excellent cutting performance combined with low fuel consumption. The standard STIHL 3/8'' P cutting chain provides precision cutting thanks to its narrow kerf. Thanks to the anti-vibration system STIHL you can work with the chainsaw STIHL MS 172, while protecting your muscles and joints. This means that the chainsaw runs smoothly and evenly.

Controlling with one lever is very convenient, so you can perform all functions with one hand. If you take a break, the saw is immediately ready for reuse. The multifunction lever with STOP function automatically returns to the working position. Another advantage of the MS 172 saw is the side chain tension ensuring safe and easy chain tensioning without contact with the blade or claw buttress tips.

STIHL MS 172 also has a diagnostic socket for servicing the chainsaw.

Side Chain Tensioner

PROVIDES EASY AND SAFE TENSIONING. The side chain tensioner allows for safe, easy and quick tensioning and chain replacement. The tension screw is available on the side through the chain drive cover.

Therefore, the air filter should be cleaned only after a clear decrease in parameters. Thanks to this, it is possible to work without maintenance for a long time.

Transparent Oil Tank

MAKES IT EASIER TO CHECK THE FILLING LEVEL. The transparent oil tank allows you to quickly and easily check the oil level for chain lubrication. In this way, you always know when to replenish the chain lubrication oil to be able to work efficiently for a long time.

Four-channel Stihl Technique

In four through channels, the fuel-air mixture is swirled before ignition. This ensures better fuel combustion and significantly increases engine efficiency. The result: lower fuel consumption and high torque in a wide range of revolutions.

Multifunctional Lever With Stop Function

FACILITATES OPERATION. Only one starting position on the multifunction lever is required. When switched off, thanks to the STOP function, the control lever automatically returns to the working position. This allows you to immediately restart the hot machine.

Engine Stihl 2-Mix

EXCEPTIONAL PERFORMANCE. With the STIHL 2-Mix engine, you can reduce emissions and fuel consumption, as well as operating costs. This 2-stroke engine is designed to require no frequent maintenance and consume fuel even at high power. As fuel, a mixture of gasoline and engine oil should be used. The STIHL 2 Mix engine complies with the strict EU emission directive, level V.

Anti-vibration system Stihl

PROVIDES A MORE COMFORTABLE WORK. When increasing the power of the device, vibrations are created, which are particularly noticeable in the grip area. The buffer and spring elements of the STIHL anti-vibration system reduce the transmission of motor vibrations to the grip area and thus to the user's body.
