Droplet Tester for Water Quality Control: pH and Chlorine in Jacuzzi Pools and Spa Bathtubs

The pH/Cl test is the most important element of the pool abbot and without it any treatments will be ineffective. To properly care for the quality of water in the pool, we need to know and control 2 important parameters: chlorine level i pH of water. Both of these indicators have the greatest impact on the condition of the pool water.

The tester has a clear comparative scale placed on the package and contains 2 bottles with reagents: yellow to test the level of free chlorine, and red measures the level of pH water.

It is very important to test the pH/Cl level of pool water.

Too high pH level will result in less effective action of pool disinfectants, calcium precipitation and associated water turbidity and clogging of filters. However, too low pH value may cause irritation of mucous membranes and corrosion of metal elements.

Too low chlorine levels promote the multiplication of bacteria and algae. The water gets dirty and green, in which case shock chlorination must be used.

However, when the chlorine level is too high, water can irritate the eyes and skin, leave the pool uncovered and let it evaporate.

Usage:

1. Rinse the tester containers, then fill them with water from a depth of approx. 40 cm to the level marked on them
2. Add 4 drops of OTO (yellow bottle) to the container with the yellow cap to measure the level of free chlorine
3. Add 4 drops of Phenol Red (red bottle) to the container with a red cap to measure pH levels
4. Apply the stoppers in shake the tester to thoroughly mix the liquid
5. Compare the staining of the solutions with the color scale at the tester containers and read the measurement results.
6. The ideal chlorine level in water is 0,6-1,5 mg/l
7. The ideal pH for water is 7,6

The tester is easy to use and affordable, and will definitely make it easier to care for your pool water. The chlorine and pH levels should be measured every 3-6 days, especially after very hot days, storms, rains and after the addition of pool chemistry.

It is best to add filter balls to the pump, thanks to which the pool is filtered more thoroughly and the pump is less loaded.
