The Tuya soil moisture and temperature sensor is a versatile device that will work in different conditions. The sensor offers a degree of protection IP44, making it suitable for measuring soil parameters of potted plants inside.

The included cover makes the sensor dustproof and splash resistant - offering a degree of protection IP55. This will allow you to monitor soil moisture and temperature in outdoor gardens or farms without worrying about damage to the device.

Control from anywhere in the world

Soil humidity and temperature sensor thanks to Bluetooth technology, you can directly connect to the application on the smartphone and control the device within a radius of up to 10 meters.

However, if we pair the sensor with the Zigbee/Bluetooth Multi-mode gateway, connected to the home Wi-Fi network, we will be able to monitor the operation of the device from any place in the world (provided that we have access to the Internet). Using the Bluetooth gateway allows also to create scenes in the Tuya app. Thanks to this, we can make the operation of other devices dependent on the sensor's readings , e.g. irrigation controllers.

Intelligent irrigation

Thanks to the Tuya soil moisture sensor, garden irrigation will become more efficient and economical. Intelligent control dependent on soil moisture will save water optimizing the irrigation process adapting it to current conditions.

Intelligent irrigation systems contribute to more efficient use of water and maintaining optimal soil conditions for plant development. Unlike a traditional rain sensor, the soil moisture sensor with proper automation can turn on watering at soil moisture, e.g. 40%.

When the soil moisture reaches the appropriate value, e.g. 80%, the controller will stop irrigation and the programmed watering cycles will be suspended until the substrate humidity drops below 40% again. Of course, during the creation of scenes, it is possible to determine the inclusion of watering only within the time range e.g. night or morning.

The humidity sensor also allows you to create a scene that turns on irrigation when the soil moisture falls below the set value, and turns off irrigation after determined time e.g. 15 minutes.
