The cocoon is designed to limit the space around the baby so that it can gradually move from an embryonic position to an upright position. When a baby sleeps immediately in the crib after birth, he may feel discomfort, because suddenly he is in too much space. The soft and high edges of the baby-hugging cocoon protect the baby and dampen sharp sounds, ensuring a restful night's sleep.
