The leather ceiling allows you to polish the blade allowing for maximum sharpness.

The ceiling has two sides. One finished with a mizdra (the inner side of the skin), which holds the polishing paste well and a face (smooth, outer part) – for final polishing.

Leather belts are made of cowhide genuine leather with gr. 3 mm, vegetable tanned. The ceiling is placed on a wooden base, which is additionally protected with waxes.

Why is it worth polishing on the ceiling?

1. Removing burrs - leather ceiling, gently but effectively removes micro burrs after pre-sharpening. Pulling the blade over the ceiling causes them to straighten and then tear off.
2. Smoothing edges - polishing makes the cutting edge extremely smooth and uniform. This is the most important step to achieving the best focus.
3. Easy to focus - you can use the ceiling even before each start of work. Without any preparation, you simply move the knife several times and straighten the micro-pollutants from the previous use.
4. Cleaner cutting - polished blade passes through the material without resistance, leaving smooth, clean edges

How to polish on the ceiling?

Always move the blade towards the back (backwards) so as not to cut the skin. Use the smooth side to finally polish the blade. After achieving the right effect, wipe the knife with a cloth and enjoy perfect sharpness.

Thicker skin

Thick, 3-millimeter leather is not only a guarantee of durability – but also a better "feel" of the edge and cushioning, which forgives minor mistakes and facilitates precise polishing at a constant angle.

Convenient size

We made this ceiling in dimensions approx. 15 x 5 x 1,6 cm, which makes it a practical tool also on the go, easily fits in the hand. It is also suitable for precise polishing of smaller knives and blades.

The compact size makes the ceiling suitable for both the kitchen, workshop and outdoors – hunting, camping or expedition.

Each ceiling is made by hand, so there may be minimal differences in size.

We choose the leather so that the piece used in the ceiling is of the best quality. However, keep in mind that the skin may have natural discoloration or blemishes. However, they do not affect the use of the ceiling.
