Echo sounder Deeper Sonar CHIRP+ 4 - a new generation of portable sonar equipped with artificial intelligence, which helps in the interpretation of sonar readings and more accurate detection of fish. The machine learning algorithm analyzes not only the strength of the signal, but also the shape of the ultrasound reflection, thanks to which it can distinguish fish from vegetation, air bubbles or other objects under water. The CHIRP+ 4 also offers extensive fisheries mapping features. The user can create depth maps in 3D, as well as use the bottom hardness and underwater vegetation maps available in both 2D and 3D views. All data is presented in real time, which makes it easy to quickly determine the best places to fish. The echo sounder uses CHIRP technology, which sends a wide range of ultrasonic frequencies. Thanks to this, the image of the bottom is clearer, and the interpretation of the structure of the fishery and the location of the fish become more precise. The device is designed both for novice anglers whose artificial intelligence makes it easier to read data, as well as for more experienced users using advanced mapping functions.
Artificial intelligence for fish recognition:
One of the most important novelties in the CHIRP+ 4 model is a sonar data analysis system based on machine learning. The manufacturer emphasizes that a lot of questions from users concern the interpretation of the image from the sonar and the distinction between whether it is a fish or a shoal, or vegetation or maybe just a disturbance. The new algorithm has been trained by experts to analyze not only the reflection strength of the ultrasonic signal, but also the shape of the reflection. Thanks to this, the system can indicate the presence of fish much more accurately. Unlike previous models, in CHIRP+ 4 artificial intelligence analyzes the entire form of reflection – arches, half-arches or lines that are formed on the sonar screen, which allows you to more reliably identify fish.
3D bottom maps and extended fishery mapping:
The new model also develops mapping functions known from previous generations. The echo sounder offers 3D depth maps, personal fishery mapping, bottom hardness maps and underwater vegetation maps. Bottom hardness and vegetation maps are available in both 2D and 3D views, allowing the angler to accurately see the bottom structure, hard ground locations, vegetation areas, and the location of fish in real time, allowing them to react quickly to the underwater situation.
Vegetation and bottom hardness maps:
Bottom hardness mapping is especially useful for half of carp. These fish often prefer hard, clean places between vegetation, because they find more natural food there, and the bait does not collapse in soft mud, so they can feed more effectively. Thanks to the bottom hardness maps, the angler can determine exactly where to bait and set the set. The second important element is the mapping of underwater vegetation, which is the natural residence of fish, because small fish accumulate there, predators hunt in these zones, and fish use vegetation as a cover. Thanks to the vegetation map, it is easier to indicate the places of concentration of fish.
Sonanar technology CHIRP
The CHIRP+ 4 uses CHIRP (Compressed High-Intensity Radar Pulse) technology. Unlike classic sonars, which send a single-frequency signal, CHIRP technology uses a wide range of ultrasonic frequencies. This provides a clearer picture of the bottom, more accurate depth determination, better differentiation of the structure of objects and more effective detection of fish.
