Multifunctional Electrical Installation Parameter Meter

☑ The meter is designed for checking home and industrial electrical installations. With the help of the instrument, measurements can be made, the results of which determine the safety status of the installation. This makes it possible to measure the parameters of shock protection using one universal device.

☑ In terms of insulation resistance control Sonel MPI-536 has a very wide capabilities – its maximum measuring voltage is up to 2500 V.

☑ Diagnostics of isolation are supported by charts R(t)/U(t), R(t)/I(t), U(t)/I(t), I(U), available both after and during the measurement. In addition, the instrument calculates absorption coefficients and temperature coefficients. In addition, Sonel MPI-536 enables automatic measurement of insulation resistance of 3-, 4- or 5-wire cables using the optional AutoISO-2500 adapter.

The calibration certificate is a document issued free of charge in the production process of the meter.

It confirms the conferral of metrological properties and maintaining measurement consistency.

In the calibration certificate under the date of issue of the document there is a dotted field: “Date of commissioning”. This is the field left for the instrument user, in which the date of purchase should be entered.

The entered date of purchase can be used to determine the next calibration date based on the manufacturer’s recommendation below:

Subsequent execution of the metrological confirmation (calibration) is recommended to be carried out within 12 months from the date of purchase, but no later than 24 months from the date of production / checking.

Another metrological inspection is carried out by the Research and Calibration Laboratory of Sonel S.A. companies, and the issued document is called - Calibration Certificate.

Installation security check

Thanks to the device, you can control home and industrial electrical installations in terms of safety. Measurements can be easily automated by:

  • Testing of residual current circuit breakers in Auto mode,
  • self-tests – i.e. freely configurable measurement sequences,
  • Use of AutoISO-2500 adapter to test insulation resistance of 3-, 4- and 5-wire wires.

Verification of the correctness of the protective cable connections

  • After connecting the meter as in the figure touch the touch electrode and wait about 1 s. If a voltage is found on the PE cable, the instrument:

displays the PE inscription! (installation error, PE cable connected to phase wire) and

✅ will generate a continuous beep.

This capability is available for all measuring functions concerning RCD circuit breakers and short-circuit loops except for ZL-N, L-L measurement.

WARNING

  • After the presence of phase voltage on the PE protective cable is detected, the measurements should be stopped immediately and the installation error removed.
  • Make sure that we are standing on an uninsulated substrate during the measurement. Isolated substrate may cause an incorrect check result.
  • If the voltage on the PE cable exceeds the permissible value (approx. 50 V), the meter will signal this fact.

Readability

  • The device is equipped with a color, touch LCD screen with a diagonal of 7” and a resolution of 800x480 pixels. A large screen means more information available when using the meter. The included stylus also allows you to work in dielectric gloves.

Built-in help system

  • The device has built-in help screens with measurement diagrams. Thanks to this, it is easy and quick to see how to connect a given system depending on the type of measurement performed.
