Digital display

The "ACE II Basic plus" breathalyzer has a large LCD display with backlight. Thanks to this, the measurement results can be easily read even in poor visibility.

Operation is carried out with the touch of a button, which is located in the middle of the device and therefore can be equally well reached by right- and left-handed people - it is not easier!

Important tips for conducting tests and evaluating your own

- Devices for the ACE breathalyzer are supplied (unless otherwise) with the "Promille" measuring unit as the basic setting.

- After the last sip of alcohol, wait at least 15 minutes, because there may be remaining alcohol in the mouth, which affects the results of measurements. Smoking should also be avoided before the test, as cigarette smoke harms the sensor.

- For each test, use a new mouthpiece - not only for hygienic reasons, but also because the mouthpiece used can affect the next measurement result. There may be residual alcohol in the mouthpiece, which, when using the same mouthpiece again, affects the test result (thanks to this, e.g. a sober person may possibly develop alcoholization).

- If the same person performs 2 tests one by one, they should wait at least 3 minutes, because in case of too short waiting time, different measurements may appear. The air exhaled from the lungs after the test is no longer enriched with the same alcohol content as in tests carried out shortly before. Therefore, an immediate second test will show a lower measurement value.

- If "Flow" appears on the display, the breath sample was not sufficient or was completed too early. During the breath sample, the breath should be pulled away for about 4 seconds and preferably as if you were a whistle without sound. The breath sample ends when you hear a click sound.

- The measurement values displayed on the display can be interpreted in a 1:1 ratio if e.g. 0,36 mm, or 0,36 per mille.

- Calibration: To maintain the accuracy of the breathalyzer, ACE recommends calibration of the device (see details in the user manual). Calibration does not necessarily have to be done, but the accuracy of the integrated sensor is constantly reduced without calibration. The device also works without calibration – but it is inaccurate. ACE can calibrate this breathalyzer.

- Ace II Basic Plus provides very reliable measurements (99% measurement accuracy compared to police test devices, see study HERE Vienna, November 2016). Nevertheless, all measurements determined with this breathalyzer are only indicative values and are not legally binding. The binding legally applies only in the test with a breathalyzer, which is considered evidence in court or as a result of blood collection.
