Eink Carta screen

Thanks to the screen with the latest E-INK Carta technology, reading is a complete pleasure. The new screen has better contrast and a whiter background. With improved refresh rates, you can read more pages without sacrificing quality without blinking the screen.

The eink screen with 16-degree grayscale, imitates the effect of traditional printing on paper. 1024x758, 212 ppi resolutions provide super comfortable reading without eye strain. The text is clear and easy to read.

Screen backlight with anyreflective coating

Bemi Cognita Light 2 has a built-in smart LED backlight that allows not only to adjust the brightness but also the color. The reader screen is covered with a special anti-reflective coating, thanks to which you can read books even in full sun.

The reader has a set of LEDs with cold and warm light (blue and yellow).

Depending on your preferences, you can set your own composition by “mixing” colors.

In addition, the reader has default settings for reading during the day, evening and night.

Formats of books

Cognita Light 2 supports most available e-book formats such as PDF DRM, epub DRM, TXT, HTML, FB2, RTF, MOBI (mobipocket), CHM, PDB, DOC (in the basic scope).

In addition, it also displays graphic files in the following formats: JPEG, JPG, BMP, GIF.

Adobe® DRM

Adobe® DRM is a copyright protection system developed by Adobe.

Many e-bookstores and libraries offer DRM-protected books.

The reader supports Adobe® DRM and enables seamless reading of books with protection for both PDF and epub formats.

PDF Reflow

Cognita Light 2 supports a very useful Reflow function for PDF files. Reflow is a flow, i.e. breaking the content of a PDF file so that it is read as text as in a file, e.g. epub or fb2. The text automatically adjusts to the size of the page and thus the reading is pleasant and comfortable. The text can be further enlarged, which is impossible when reading the original PDF file.

Background change mode

It shows the contents of a book with a darkened appearance, using a reverse color scheme to further improve readability and contrast.

Notebook

The reader has a built-in simple notebook in which you can save your comments or important information. Each note will be saved in TXT format.

Calendar with notes and notifications

Cognita Light 2 has a built-in calendar in which you can save notes, information about important events and set a notification about the upcoming date or event at each date.

Dictionary

The reader has built-in basic dictionaries* from English and into English in 7 languages: Russian, Polish, Spanish, German, Italian, French and Portuguese.

The device also has an English-English Webster dictionary.

*Cognita Light 2 does not support selecting words in text. The word must be entered manually in the dictionary.

Library of Books

Cognita Light 2 displays the library as tiles with book covers or a list of files, both in internal memory and on the memory card if it was placed in the reader. The device also allows you to sort books by title, author, recently read, new. You can also create a list of your favorite e-books, search for books by name.

In addition to the name of the book/file, we can preview the file format (list) and the % of the book read.

Functions when reading

• Add tab — Add a bookmark in the currently open book.
• Bookmarks — displays saved bookmarks.
• Table of Contents — displays the table of contents if available in the file; (function not available in the file format . txt).
• Add to Favorites — Add an open file to your favorites list.
• Go to page — enter the number of the page you want to go directly to.
• Search — search for selected words and currently open book.
• Magnification size — increase/decrease the view (only available in . pdf).
• Font Size — Increase/decrease the font size of currently read text (the function is not in the file in the format . pdf).
• Font type — change the type of font (only available in format files. txt/. html/. fb2/. rtf/. mobi).
• Line spacing — adjust the line spacing (only available in files in the format . txt/. html/. fb2/. rtf/. mobi).
• Margin — resize the margin in the file.
• Text — the user can change the way the file is displayed in pdf format between the original view (off. original) and only text (on. reflow) — (function available only in format . pdf).
• Rotate the screen — rotate the screen 90º in accordance with or inverse to the clock hands.
• Replace colors — invert displayed colors (default, the background under the displayed text is white and the letters are black; if reversed color is enabled, the background is black and the letters are white)
• Auto-rotate— Set the time after which the page will be automatically flipped after: 10 seconds/20 seconds/30 seconds/1 minute/2 minutes.
• Refresh Mode — Set the screen refresh rate: after each page/after 3 pages/after 5 pages.
• About the book — displays information about the currently opened book: title, author, publisher and format (if available).
• Notes – if the book contains, it displays the content of the footnote.

Not every feature is available for every file format.

Lower heavy and unique character shapes make it difficult to confuse letters.

Attention! Changing fonts is not supported for pdf and epub formats.

The reader supports the footnote function. If the book has footnotes, the device will allow you to view its content.

Duration of action

Bemi Cognita Light 2 has a built-in 1900mAh battery. Once the battery is fully charged, the device can run up to 7 weeks*, about 6000 page changes.

*In the following conditions: half an hour of reading per day, 30 seconds average page change time, set the shortest sleep times and automatic shutdown.
