Butyl rubber mat manufactured in Europe on the basis of experience in the sale and assembly of soundproofing materials from Standartplast – StP and Bitmat.

At the auction the latest version of the AB-25 mat!

The composition of the mixture and embossing of aluminium have been changed.

It is the most effective model of butyl mats from the AB series from Bitmat that can be used in the car.

We do not recommend thicker butyl mats than 2,5 mm due to the fact that the butyl mat must be rolled out very well to the shape of the sheet metal.

The new AB-25 model has damping properties increased by 15% compared to the previous version.

• MLF vibration damping coefficient: 0,49 (the higher the coefficient, the greater the damping efficiency)

Bitmat mats can also be used on plastic surfaces thanks to their self-vulcanizing properties, they stick very well to any surface.

How to soundproof a car?

First we stick butyl mat AB-2*/AB-25/StP* (*available at our other auctions) on each metal element, mapping it to the shape of the sheet metal.

The second layer is rubber waterproof foam — foam rubber (available at our other auctions)

Why several layers?

The butyl mat stiffens the body, creates a barrier to noise, eliminates resonance, rumbling and humming.

Rubber foam isolates from noise and high frequencies.

This combination creates the most effective soundproofing laminate!

Example of the number of mats needed to soundproof a car*:

• Front and back doors - 700 × 50 cm Ab25 + 2 m2 rubber foam
• Floor - 2x 700 × 50 cm Ab25 + 7m2 rubber foam
• Roof - 400 × 50 cm Ab25 + 2m2 rubber foam
• Luggage compartment with wheel arches - 700 × 50 cm Ab25 + 3m2 rubber foam

* (quantities may be larger or smaller depending on: model, car/vehicle type)

Remember that the butyl mat must be rolled out all over and crumpled to the shape of the sheet metal.

Assembly advice

▶ Clean the soundproofed surface well with extraction gasoline or remover available at our auctions

▶ Touch the butyl mat to specific dimensions and stick on the selected body element.

▶ Exactly roll out the butyl mat with a roller – the roller is included!
