AB-25 by Bitmat - self-adhesive butyl mat made of aluminium

Thickness: 2,5 mm

Symbol: 75X50CM AB25

Raw material tested by PIMOT — Automotive Industry Institute

Alubutyl Bitmat is currently the best and most efficient material for silencing cars.

Mat parameters:

  • MLF vibration damping coefficient: 0,49 (the higher the coefficient, the greater the damping efficiency)
  • Weight: 3,87 kg/m2
  • Aluminium thickness: (0,1 mm - 100 μ)

At the auction, the latest version of the AB-25 mat - the new AB-25 model has damping properties increased by 15% vs. the previous version!

Even more effective butyl blend.

The composition of the mixture and the density of the damping mass have changed. There is also a new layer (embossing) of aluminum, which is soft and easy to lay. Thanks to this, it has increased resistance to cracks during installation.

Butyl rubber mat manufactured in Europe on the basis of experience in the sale and assembly of soundproofing materials from Standartplast – StP and Bitmat. After many years of testing and trials, we have achieved the most flexible and stretchy alubutyl mixture on the Polish market.

Mat AB-25 silencing

Made of pure butyl with a thickness of 2,5 mm and low weight, it has an increased density and provides the highest damping parameters at such a low weight.

It sticks perfectly and lays in hard-to-reach places such as pressed metal profiles on the floor, trunk or mask, but also fits perfectly on plastic door sides and is used in construction and industry.

The product is flexible and easy to install because it is made from materials of natural origin – without fillers in the form of waste.

The product combines the advantages of dense and flexible butyl rubber and the properties of real, cold-pressed aluminum.

Properties

  • High quality cold bent aluminium 100µ-
  • Nanopolymer technology, high stability at low and high temps
  • UV resistance thanks to good quality aluminium
  • Does not contain asphalt masses, aromatic hydrocarbons and other harmful substances
  • High density butyl

Butyl mat AB-25 from Bitmat

Elastic and has optimal rigidity of aluminum to reduce vibration.

Flammable that meets ISO3795 (flammability of materials in road and agricultural vehicles)

The butyl mat AB-25 is the most effective model of butyl mats from the AB series from Bitmat.

Cars are minimally soundproofed by manufacturers, so you can significantly improve your travel comfort and well-being by using a butyl mat in your car.

Sticking the mat on the selected element of the car causes damping of sheet metal vibrations, which translates into a decrease in noise in the low frequency range, which are the most difficult to eliminate! Soundproofing foams, eliminate medium and high frequencies.

A properly soundproofed car is an excellent isolation of the cabin from sounds from the call. and additionally better feelings from the car audio system (stiffening of body elements affects the propagation of low tones inside. cabin — creates better sound pressure).

The use of butyl mat and Bitmat foams contributed to a decrease in volume by up to several decibels - the noise was reduced by as much as 50%!

Advantages of butyl mats AB-25, made by Bitmat:

  • Resistant to water, oils and mold
  • They do not crack, do not crumble, do not require heating
  • Strong adhesive
  • High flexibility affects even better silencing effect
  • Effective reduction of rumbling, humming and vibration
  • They work anti-corrosion – often water comes under cracked bitumen mats (we suggest removing falling bitumen mats)
  • Approved for use in the automotive industry
  • Large mat area — up to 7 m (700 × 50 cm) in 1 piece
  • They keep max. parameters in a wide range of temp. -45°C to +120°C!
  • They eliminate vibrations, hum and rumbling and create a barrier to noise.
  • Thanks to its high plasticity, the mat seals and insulates thermally through a thick 0,1 mm aluminum foil
  • Resistant to the effects of aging
  • It is easily stretched and formed, maintaining the highest damping parameters, thanks to the pure butyl mass
  • Safe for humans and animals – no asphalt admixtures
  • Proven composition supported by research and several years of experience
  • They are not toxic by. ROHS — tested at DEKRA

Differences between bituminous and butyl mats:

  • does not require heating — bituminous mats must be heated with a heat gun
  • does not crack – bitumen mat is asphalt, i.e. it can crumble and crack
  • much more flexibility affects even lbetter mute effect
  • they work anti-corrosion — often water comes under cracked bitumen mats
  • larger mat area — in 1 piece up to 7 m (700 × 50 cm)
  • these are not roofing tapes that can only be used outdoors due to the solvents used

The price is comparable to bituminous mats, while damping and comfort when gluing and low weight definitely have an advantage over hard, thick and heavy bituminous mats. They are much more effective than bituminous mats, because rubber does not change properties as bitumen (asphalt) during temperature changes.

Application:

1. Passenger cars, trucks and special vehicles: Roof, Floor, Wheel arches, Mask, Tailgate, Luggage compartment, Undercarriage, Door bacon, Bulkhead wall, Plastic engine cover

2. Machinery and equipment: Appliances — washing machines, dishwashers, dryers, refrigerators; Agricultural machinery — tractors, combines, jacks; Aggregates; Compressors

3. Private construction: recuperators; C.O. furnaces - Heating boilers; Heat exchange pumps

How to soundproof a car?

The best results can be achieved by using alubutyl in combination with rubber foams, creating a 2-layer acoustic barrier against vibration and noise.

  • First, we stick the butyl mat AB-25 (or other AB/StP) on each metal element, mapping it to the shape of the sheet metal
  • The second layer is waterproof rubber foam — rubber foam

Why several layers?

  • Butyl mat stiffens the body, creates a barrier to noise, eliminates resonance, rumbling and humming.
  • Rubber foam isolates from noise and high frequencies.

Example number of butyl mats and rubber foams needed to soundproof the car*:

  • Front pair of doors: 2 m2 butyl mat and 1 m2 rubber foam 6mm
  • Rear pair of doors: 1,5 m2 butyl and 1 m2 rubber foam 6mm
  • Luggage compartment with wheel arches: 3 m2 butyl mat and 3 m2 rubber foam 9mm
  • Floor with engine compartment: 3,5 m2 butyl mat and 3,5 m2 rubber foam 9mm
  • Roof: 2 m2 butyl mat and 2 m2 rubber foam 6mm

* Quantities may vary depending on the car

Assembly advice

▶ Clean the soundproofed surface well with extraction gasoline or remover

▶ Touch the butyl mat to specific dimensions and stick on the selected body element

▶ Thoroughly roll out the butyl mat with a roller (available at our other auctions)

▶ Then glue the rubber foam

The butyl mat must be rolled out all over and crumpled to the shape of the sheet metal.

Remember! The most effective soundproofing laminate is obtained by combining a butyl mat with rubber foam

FAQ Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Is the mat in small pieces? We sell the product from a roll with a width. 50 cm and L up to 700 cm. We convert the pieces to the total area and ship the product in 1-episode.
  • To what extent will the butyl mat AB soundproof my car? By silencing the door, floor, wheel arches, trunk, roof and hood, depending on the car model, we can usually reduce noise by 3-4 dB, we will reduce noise by more than 50%.
  • What is the difference between butyl and bituminous mats? The butyl mat is flexible, does not require heating during laying. Bitumen mat is hard, easily cracks, needs a very high temp to mount. exceeding even 100°C.
  • Why do I need to buy foam for a butyl mat? Only the combination of butyl mat with foam will create full sound insulation for frequencies such as low (rumble), medium (noise, clatter) and high (whistling).
  • What is easy to cut the mat? A simple sharp knife is enough to cut, e.g. upholstery.
