STIHL M-Tronic (FT)

The electronic engine control system precisely regulates the ignition time in each speed range and dispenses the right amount of fuel depending on temperature, altitude and fuel quality. Thanks to this, only one position on the switch is enough to start the saw.

Decompression valve

The decompression valve allows you to remove part of the compressed mixture from the cylinder during start-up. This allows you to significantly reduce the force needed to pull the starter cable, relieve the person operating the device and protect the entire start-up system of the device.

Long-life air filter system

The long-life air filter system significantly extends the operating periods between filter cleanings. Larger and heavier particles are ejected by centrifugal force outside, and then by the rising ramp additionally ejected upwards. Pre-cleaned air is fed into the air filter.

STIHL 2-MIX engine

The two-stroke STIHL engine in 2-MIX technology provides high power, and at the same time fuel savings of up to 20% compared to two-stroke STIHL engines of similar power without 2-MIX technology. Exhaust emissions are down by approx. 50%.

Compensator

Cleaning the filter becomes necessary only when the engine power clearly decreases. The STIHL compensator placed in the carburetor ensures that despite the increase in air filter contamination, engine power, the content of harmful substances in the exhaust gases and fuel consumption remain constant for a long time. In this way, longer work is possible without the need for service activities.

Anti-vibration system

The powerful vibrations transmitted by the handles of mechanical devices can lead to vibrational disease. For this reason, STIHL created an anti-vibration system. In mechanical devices equipped with the AV system, the handle zones significantly reduce the number of vibrations produced by the internal combustion engine and the working tool.

Side chainsaw tensioner

The tensioner screw is rotated by a special knob passing through the cover of the chainsaw drive wheel. This avoids hand contact with the sharp chainsaw and sharp teeth of the resistance bumper.

STIHL ElastoStart

The compression pressure causes reflections to be created when starting internal combustion engines, burdening the muscles and joints of the operator. The cushioning element placed in the special starter holder absorbs and transmits the existing forces according to the course of the compression cycle, thus enabling smooth start-up of the device without .

Leverage Kombi

The M-Tronic system recognizes the hot and cold start phase, so there is only a starting position on the station wagon lever. M-tronic dispenses exactly the amount of fuel that is needed at the moment. The great advantage of this technical innovation is the fact that the user can immediately start working and at the highest speed. Thanks to optimal acceleration, after a few seconds the chainsaw is completely ready for operation.

Little weight compared to power

The STIHL MS 462 C-M saw is the lightest professional saw in its capacity class. The effect of noticeably lower weight was achieved thanks to m.in.: cylinder with diagonal cooling ribs, light drive wheel cover, compact engine body, optimized flywheel weight and lightweight ES Light guide.

HD2 filter

The HD2 filter is made of polyethylene and has up to 70% finer pores compared to fliss or polyamide filters, which in practice means filtering the smallest particles of impurities. The filter is also waterproof, does not absorb oil, and can be easily cleaned. Airtight closure increases engine life and reduces wear

Pleasant calibration functions

During operation, the M-Tronic system keeps the saw motor at optimal power at all times. Optimized drive wheel cover

The lighter, narrower and flattened drive wheel cover reduces the effort of trimming and promotes efficient chip removal.
