Prekė: Gyvūnų gaudyklė LIVETRAP P1 kiaunėms, žiurkėms, šeškams, audinėms. Kategorija: Gyvūnų atbaidikliai.
- Gamintojas: Viano
- Modelis: P1
The hedgehog is suitable for catching martens, raccoons, weasels, mink, cowards, rabbits, hares, cats, rats and muskrats. The livetrap we produce is large enough (dimensions: 75cm x 26cm x 30cm) to give captured animals freedom of movement. The trap has a solid construction (2mm wire) because martens have sharp teeth and can chew through the weaker trap design to free themselves. All 100% galvanized, i.e. stainless - resistant to weather conditions such as rain, snow, etc. Made in galvanized has another advantage - unscented. This is very important from the point of view of attracting an animal. Lacquered traps discourage the animal from entering.
Key features:
- Large trap size - length 75 cm, width 26cm, height 30 cm. This size ensures that the animal will simply fit in the cage - allowing you to close the door. The adult marten is on average 70cm long (about 50cm body length and tail about 20 cm). Smaller size traps are not suitable for capturing these animals.
- Weather resistant, 100% galvanized.
- Double-sided door - most animals do not like to hit dead ends, which is why traps with a double-sided inlet often achieve better efficiency compared to a single-sided model.
- Ratchet-snap system for closing the door - in the event of movement of the lure by the animal, the door closes on both sides and is additionally bolted to prevent the animal from crossing them.
- Unpainted - has no smell.
- Quality of the Polish manufacturer VIANO.
Additionally included in the set:
- HUNTER GUIDE - we discuss the most common animal species - from badger to raccoon - we indicate which of them are the greatest threat and advise how to effectively (and legally) protect against them.
- INSTRUCTIONS FOR ASSEMBLING THE TRAP - the instructions contain information on how to fold the trap in a few simple movements.
- Stainless pendant with tray,
- Weasel decoy in the form of granules,
- Stainless pliers for placing bait in a trap,
- A pair of foil gloves.
Safety first
The handle of the trap is equipped with a metal hand guard, so that when we move the captured animal will not bite us and scratch our hands. The cover in VIANO cages has a dimension of up to 18cm by 18cm.
Wild animals are the main carriers of rabies and are often a reservoir of this dangerous disease. The virus is usually transmitted by a bite or scratch. Our livetrap, thanks to its large cover and solid construction, reduces the risk of contact with the animal to a minimum.
After catching the marten, it should be released as soon as possible. It is advisable to do this in a wooded area at least 25 km from the fishing spot. In this way, the chances of the animal no longer finding its way to its original territory are increased, and instead claiming new territory.
Placing the bait
Using the included stainless pliers, place the bait (eggs, meat, fish) on a metal tray. What can lure martens into traps is m.in. bird eggs, meat (even with feathers, e.g. chickens, pigeon), fruit (plum, cherry). Kuna can also attract peanut butter or nutella – experience shows that this food arouses the interest of these animals. The bait should not be touched directly with your hand, as your scent can discourage your pet from taking it. It should be placed in a way that limits our contact to a minimum (use the foil gloves included in the set).
Bait, lure for weasels
The easiest and most effective way to catch martens and other rodents, raccoons and cowards are raw eggs. To lure them, place four eggs on a trap tray.
The included weasel lure also shows a high success rate. This product is best placed over the tray on the included pendant. Kunas are suspicious animals and if they smell food in front of their shelter, they can gain distance. An effective method is to place the track with small amounts of bait to enter the trap.
If you know the running paths of the marten, the trap should be placed there if possible. Placement e.g. directly in the attic of the house - also works. Stones, branches, etc., you can make a kind of hopper, which can in the form of obstacles around the entrance, lead the marten directly to the trap. Kunas do not like nets under their feet, so making a possible floor from leaves, soil or the like – can have a positive effect on confusing the marten.
Latch-and-snap door locking system
The ratchet-snap system of closing the door of the trap works in such a way that the door falling in the form of flaps is additionally blocked with a strong steel frame, preventing the trap from opening from the inside. The main flap forms a 45° angle with the ground and is reinforced/locked with a 90° drop steel frame to the main flap. This ensures that the flap is tightly closed. It is a quick and trouble-free system, and the falling flaps help to direct the animal to the inside of the trap.
Caught animals sometimes have to show incredible strength to escape from the trap – our VIANO traps easily withstand these forces thanks to the thoughtful design and quality of the materials used.
Advantages:
- Inability to escape: The closure is constructed in such a way that the animal has no chance of getting out of the trap on its own.
- Speed and reliability: The mechanism works quickly and reliably.
- Effectiveness: Falling flaps help direct the animal inside the trap.
Bait tray
The trap is equipped with a tray on which four egg holes are made and two hooks are placed for easy forging of meat. Attempting to take the bait by the animal causes the tray to tilt, trigger the ratchets and close the cage expressly. The simple ratcheting system used in the trap works very efficiently and is sensitive to the slightest movement of the bait plate. The stainless construction of the cage ensures efficient movement of the door in the guides and excludes jamming of the mechanism.
HUNTER'S ADVISORY
Houses and farms (especially those located on the outskirts of forests, near rivers, fields or meadows) are exposed to visits by wild animals. Some of them pose a real threat to poultry, crops, breeding ponds and even homes. In our Hunter’s Guide, we briefly discuss the most common species – from badger to raccoon – and indicate which ones pose the greatest threat and how to effectively (and legally) protect against them.
Fighting wild predators does not necessarily mean exterminating them (in most cases, good protection, clever deterrence and fishing are effective), so if you buy our livetrap, you will also acquire a Hunter’s Guide, which will indicate how to get rid of the pest in a humane way. On the pages of the guide you will learn a brief description of the fifteen most common in Poland. We will try to help you solve the mystery – Which animal threatens my farm? On the following pages, we describe in an accessible way the instructions for assembling the trap and catching the animal.
