The dome camera has a rounded dome-shaped housing and is more discreet. It is often used indoors or under a roof, e.g. in vestibules, staircases or terraces.

2. Is the camera external?

✔ If the camera has an appropriate tightness class, e.g. IP66 or IP67, this means that it is weather resistant (rain, dust, snow) and suitable for outdoor use. It is also worth paying attention to the resistance to vandalism – cameras with the IK10 designation have a reinforced housing.

3. Can I put the camera in front of the house?

✔ Yes, you can mount a camera that monitors the space around your own property, but you must comply with data protection regulations. In accordance with Article 2 para. 1 and 2 GDPR, private monitoring (conducted by a natural person for personal or domestic purposes) is not subject to full application of the provisions of the GDPR.

• The camera should not over-record public space, e.g. the whole sidewalk, street or neighboring property.
