The Power over Ethernet system allows you to connect the camera to the network with one cable and power it at the same time. The IEEE 802.3af standard assumes that the device will be powered by DC voltage in the range of 48-52V. The wiring used in this standard is UTP cables of categories 5,5e, 6. The power supply is transmitted through these cable conductors, which are not used for data transfer.
