History:

Fighters have been developing since they were first seen at the end of World War II, to the point that modern aircraft such as the F-35 Lightning II and F-22 Raptor are often called "fifth generation" fighters; features such as their highly advanced stealth characteristics and network connectivity set them apart from previous fighters. Developed under the Joint Strike Fighter Program (JSF), the F-35 integrates multiple features into its design, and at the time of this writing, there are three types: the F-35A conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL) aircraft, the F-35A 35B short takeoff, vertical landing (STOVL) aircraft, and the F-35C with a larger wing and tail; in these three variants, the F-35 can perform a variety of missions without affecting its observability and exemplary maneuverability. At the heart of its advanced capabilities are multiple sensors, and the wealth of data collected is shared through a multifunctional advanced data link, helping the crew deliver exceptional information through a large cockpit display and helmet-mounted display system. The maiden flight of the F-35 took place in December 2006, and it is planned to deploy with air weapons in the US, Italy, Japan and other countries, as the aircraft appears to play a major role in the defense landscape in the coming years.
