Everything prepared for assembly

SUPPORTS ARE INCLUDED

When you buy a shelf, you also get dedicated invisible mounting brackets. You do not have to look for fasteners separately or wonder what system will be suitable.

HOLES IN THE SHELF ARE ALREADY DRILLED

This is very important: each shelf has pre-prepared holes for the included brackets.

You do not have to drill in the shelf yourself, determine the axis or risk damaging the wood.

After properly mounting the brackets in the wall, simply slide the shelf onto the prepared pins.

Why does the bracket go into the hole with little bulk?

THIS IS A DELIBERATE AND CORRECT DESIGN SOLUTION.

In our system, the diameter of the bracket is about 2 mm smaller than the diameter of the prepared hole in the shelf.

This means that the bracket should not enter the wood by pressing.

A small clearance is needed so that you can freely slide the massive shelf simultaneously on several mounted brackets.

If the hole had exactly the same diameter as the bracket, even minimal differences in drilling axis, wall geometry or setting of several mandrels could cause:

  • the shelf would go very hard,
  • could stop halfway through assembly,
  • excessive force would be required,
  • damage to the wood could occur,
  • And with several brackets, installation might even be impossible.

Therefore, about 2 mm of diameter difference is the intended mounting clearance, not a defect of the product.

The most important principles of proper installation

1. For drilling in the wall we use a drill Ø12 mm

Holes in the wall should be made with a drill with a diameter of 12 mm, in accordance with the requirements of the mounting system used.

Drill as precisely as possible without making unnecessary lateral movements.

2. Very important — do not ream the hole in the wall

When drilling, the drill should be guided stably.

Do not "expand" the drill to the sides or enlarge the hole above the required diameter.

If the socket in the wall is excessively reamed, the dowel may not get adequate support in the wall material.

This may result in:

  • weakening of the attachment,
  • rotation of the stud,
  • ejecting the element from the wall,
  • loss of stability of the bracket.

A properly made Ø12 mm hole should have the most even diameter possible over its entire depth.

3. Keep level when drilling

With an invisible mounting system, accuracy is especially important.

All holes should be made:

  • at the same height,
  • in one axis,
  • maintaining the level,
  • as perpendicular as possible to the wall surface.

If one bracket is mounted higher, lower or at a different angle than the others, inserting the shelf may be difficult.

Therefore, before starting drilling, it is worth accurately determining the places of holes using the level.

4. Don't force the shelf

After mounting the brackets, the shelf should be calmly and evenly slid onto them.

Due to the mounting clearance described earlier, the holes are intentionally larger than the pins.

If the shelf does not want to slide, first check:

  • level of brackets,
  • their mutual spacing,
  • angle of embedding,
  • correctness of making holes in the wall.

Do not compensate for the incorrect positioning of the brackets by hitting or pushing the shelf by force.

1. Premium wood — no imitations or half measures

Each shelf is made of real solid wood. We do not use MDF, laminates, veneers or wood-like materials.

You get a massive piece of natural raw material with visible structure, color depth and individual grain drawing.

Here every centimeter of the shelf is wood in its entire cross-section.

This gives a completely different look, weight, texture and impression of quality than in the case of materials imitating wood.

2. Wood moisture up to 9%

Beautiful appearance is just the beginning.

The wood used for production is properly dried — to a maximum humidity of about 9%.

This is an extremely important parameter for wood intended for interiors. Too moist material can work intensively, warp, twist or crack after some time.

Therefore, humidity control is one of the basic stages of selection for us.

A good shelf starts much earlier than at the grinding and oiling stage.

3. Impressive thickness of 40 to 46 mm

The thickness of about 4 – 4,6 cm immediately distinguishes the product from thin decorative shelves.

The massive cross-section gives the shelf the right proportions, prestigious appearance and allows you to fully expose the spatial structure of the Live Edge.

On the wall, the shelf looks like a solid piece of solid wood coming directly out of the wall.

4. Depth 22 to 27 cm — true usable area

The shelf is not just a decoration.

The depth of about 22 to 27 cm provides practical space for books, photographs, ceramics, plants, decorations and everyday objects.

Due to the natural nature of the front edge, the depth can change locally – it is this irregularity that makes each piece unique.

5. LIVE EDGE — the character of each shelf

The front is not an ordinary, straight edge made in series.

The edge is developed to expose the natural arrangement of wood, its kinks, structure and spatial grain drawing.

The light coming from different directions further emphasizes its texture.

There are no two identical shelves.

In serial production, repeatability is a value. For true Live Edge, the value is the individuality of each piece of wood.

6. Natural oils of the highest class

We do not cover the wood with a thick layer creating an artificial plastic effect.

We use high-quality oil systems whose task is to emphasize:

  • natural grain,
  • contrast of wood,
  • its depth,
  • surface structure,
  • characteristic color.

Thanks to this, the shelf remains in reception real, natural wood.

7. Invisible mount

When properly installed, the structural elements remain hidden.

There are no visible angles or heavy metal supports.

The shelf looks as if floats on the wall.

This solution fits particularly well with the style:

  • modern,
  • loft,
  • rustic,
  • Scandinavian,
  • Japandi,
  • minimalist,
  • classic.

The included brackets are designed for properly load-bearing masonry walls.

In particular, for substrates such as concrete, brick and other properly load-bearing walls, after applying a fastening appropriate for the material.

DO NOT MOUNT THE SHELVES DIRECTLY TO THE DRYWALL ITSELF.

In the case of hollow blocks, hollow bricks or other perforated materials, the method of fastening should be selected for a specific type of substrate. In some cases, a suitable solution may be a properly selected chemical anchor or other system designed for a given type of wall.

The final load capacity of the entire structure depends on:

  • type of wall,
  • quality of the substrate,
  • the anchoring elements used,
  • proper execution of holes,
  • correct installation of brackets.

In the case of a premium shelf, you pay not for the piece of wood itself, but for the whole process:

  • selection of appropriate material,
  • control of its humidity,
  • selection of sufficiently thick lumber,
  • straightening,
  • planing,
  • multi-stage grinding,
  • development of Live Edge,
  • finishing with natural oils,
  • execution of mounting holes,
  • preparation of dedicated invisible brackets,
  • control of the finished product.

SUPPORTS ARE INCLUDED AND HOLES FOR THEM ARE ALREADY MADE IN THE SHELF.

It's a small detail only on the surface. In practice, it means that the most difficult processing of the wood itself was done before the product was shipped.

When you buy a Live Edge solid wood shelf, you are not buying the perfect catalog photo copy.

You get a product with the same class of workmanship and specific parameters, but with unique grain, individual knot arrangement and your own course of natural edge.

Natural differences are not a disadvantage.

They are proof that the product is made of real solid wood, not its industrial imitation.

Lite wood.

Moisture up to 9%.

Thickness 40 to 46 mm.

Natural Live Edge.

Natural oils.
