The software in the central unit (commonly called radio or navigation) must be as indicated below for BMW and Mini. If you have Version_D or Version_E software, you will not be able to activate CarPlay in your car without updating your unit's software to a newer version.

For CarPlay to work, the unit must be equipped with a WLAN (WiFi) connector marked in the photo on the right with the number 2. If your unit doesn't have it, then CarPlay won't be able to connect to your phone.

In this port, simply plug in the antenna and stick or "trim" it so that it does not make noise while driving.
